hawkii commented on the post, Button and Perez “clear the air” over clash 4 weeks, 1 day ago
The worst part of that article (from an interview originally on JA on F1 I believe), was when he told the team to “work harder in the design office”. While I don’t know the inner workings of said office, being an […]

hawkii commented on the post, Alonso rues ‘two unlucky moments in four races’ 1 month ago
What I don’t think he wasn’t given enough credit for, was managing to not only stay on the circuit with his DRS jammed open, but actually keep position. He did seriously well at that point, and seriously well to […]

hawkii commented on the post, 2013 Bahrain Grand Prix TV Times 1 month ago
I actually prefer the early morning starts, it’s not like it’s the middle of the night, and it gives you the rest of the day to do other stuff. 1pm is neither here nor there really.

hawkii commented on the post, Hamilton: Soft tyre “not right for this circuit” 1 month, 1 week ago
Given that the tyres only seem to last 5 laps, to expect them to survive the out lap, Q3 lap, in lap, and then 6-10 laps of the race with full fuel tanks, would seem a tad optimistic.

hawkii commented on the post, Brawn: Team orders ‘against my sporting nature’ 1 month, 2 weeks ago
The counter-argument to that is Hamilton obviously wasn’t going to just let him past, as was evidenced, so think of it in these terms: Rosberg *eventually* passes Hamilton, gains no places because nothing happened […]

hawkii commented on the post, Di Resta: Aborted Q2 lap was team’s call 2 months ago
Is he always honest though? In this case I’d say he almost definitely is – however much throwing his team under the bus isn’t helping anything. In the past though he’s blamed his performances on the cars in front, […]

hawkii commented on the post, Caterham team principal Fernandes to step aside 6 months, 2 weeks ago
I can understand Tony Fernandes decision, he does seem to be spending an exceptionally large proportion of his time giving votes of confidence to his football teams manager these days. It’s hardly surprising he […]

When was the last time someone managed to pick up three penalties in a single race weekend?

hawkii commented on the post, Questions over invisible Force Indias in qualifying coverage 1 year, 1 month ago
Either way, this post currently has as many comments as the Vettel pole article does. If the intention was to punish Force India with zero coverage, it has spectacularly backfired. Ask people about Bahrain quali […]

Chris Hawkins commented on the post, Horner: New exhaust layout doesn’t suit Vettel 1 year, 1 month ago
In this case I thought it was actually the right call to tell Massa to let Alonso through. We’ve seen this with Force India a couple of times in recent memory too. When the strategies are that different, you’re […]

Chris Hawkins commented on the post, Vettel has “total faith” in title defence 1 year, 1 month ago
When he says bettering he means improving, and he means can Alonso single-handedly outscore McLaren? If not, and if Massa doesn’t improve, it’s McLaren’s to lose

Chris Hawkins commented on the post, Mercedes rear wing row not over yet 1 year, 1 month ago
Drivers from 18th scored more points on average than anyone from 11th-17th, lots of people do good from the back (at least before the last couple of races, didn’t chart the entire season out – were certainly far […]

I don’t think he made it dangerous. He was driving *very* defensively though to the point of losing masses of time each lap. He’d decided he had no chance of catching anyone so was doing his damnedest to hold on […]

Chris Hawkins commented on the post, Karthikeyan penalised for Vettel collision 1 year, 1 month ago
Don’t remember Kobayashi getting penalised for Hamilton moving back into him last year at Spa (nor do I think he should have been). This was the exact same situation, Vettel just decided to move back onto the […]

F1 1 year, 2 months agoIndeed, post-race coverage was pretty poor in general. If they want something to work on then they’re miles behind the BBC on that front. Bit like F1 in general though really, let’s see where they are in 6 races […]

F1 1 year, 2 months agoAs someone who watches cricket/football on Sky, I’m actually really impressed at just how few adverts they’ve added in. Was expecting the gaps between quali sessions and the formation laps to be prime ad break […]
