Indeed. Isn’t this the first Williams designed with Maldonado as the senior driver? They’re apparently not very impressed

A Lambo would be a Volkswagen as well, of course

Though Raikkonen have been known to have off weekends. Like when he didn’t study the track layout in Austin well enough and got lost…

Hopefully they’ll at least reduce the length of the DRS zones. Probably better to do that than to keep fiddling with the regulations, especially only months away from introduction

Michel S. commented on the post, Horner trashes Webber conspiracy theories 1 month, 1 week ago
What makes you say that? At McLaren, arguably it’s being the #1 that is unpleasant if you have a big ego; at Ferrari, in recent years you know you’re the #2 (public protestations to the contrary, and with the […]

If there was only one wing to begin with, sure; the problem is taking off the wing after it’s already installed on his car, and forcing him to thus cope with re-adjusting his set up for the older wing.

Clark drove in significantly shorter seasons though
That shouldn’t matter much when comparing points per start, unless the idea is that a longer season is correlated with better reliability as the team break in their cars.

Kimi having spent two relatively unsuccessful years in the WRC, why would he try again, given that Kubica is doing spectacularly well there despite his still undergoing recovery from his previous rallying accident?

Apart from 2011, his only embarrassing crash that made an impression, for me, was in the pitlane in China on worn tyres

That’d be interesting. IIRC Indy does something similar when it comes to determining garage allocations?

Michel S. commented on the post, FIA responds to Red Bull with new engine map rule 10 months ago
Webber must be breathing a huge sigh of relief that yet another EBD development is nixed after only costing him performance in one race – else it might ended up being a repeat of 2011

Michel S. commented on the post, Williams FW08C: Ayrton Senna’s first F1 test car 10 months, 3 weeks ago
Fondmetal and Coloni ran one-car teams in 1991, but if Wikipedia is to be believed, there has been no one-car teams since. Perhaps the 3rd Concorde Agreement banned it? We’d never know…

@keithcollantine — thanks! I wonder when it became disallowed though, presumably in one of the Concorde agreements (how many, exactly, has there been?). Now that I think about it, when was the last time Ferrari […]

Could anyone provide a brief summary of how exactly the current two-car-per-team rule evolves? I seem to remember single-car teams well into the late 1980s, and from this article it seems that three-car teams were […]

Michel S. commented on the post, Rate the race: 2012 Bahrain Grand Prix 1 year, 1 month ago
Perhaps there should have been a second poll, on the same page, about whether we agree to the race being held or not. That way people can separate their view on whether the race should have been held (I would have […]

The 2009 car was a dog, though, as demonstrated by Badoer and Fisi’s performances substituting for Massa once he’s injured.
And, while Kimi did get a win in Spa, before Massa’s injuries Massa was actually […]

Especially a particular constructor called Ferrari… with Bernie saying he wants a budget cap one minute, and that Ferrari has a special place in F1 the next, it’s hard to know what he’s really up to.
Which, […]
