Why did he have one set less of new tyres? Because he engulfed them in quali to get that high up the grid. However we look at it, I see little reason for him to be rated higher than Rosberg honestly.

He also ate through many sets of tyres to get there and so probably didn’t maximise his race potential, unlike Rosberg.

hahaha… yep, but as an atheist I am, it looks much the same as a religious holiday to me too… boring (I don’t like both Monaco or Indy 500)

@tmekt I was just looking for clarification, that’s all, as it could appear as double standards ;)

Max Jacobson commented on the post, Pirelli criticise “ludicrous” wait for 2014 tyre decision 5 hours, 24 minutes ago
@kingshark I think it’s a fairly terrible idea: they cost far too much, they ruin the competition in most instances and the number one teams for each manufacturer will have essentially tailor-made tyres. It’s […]

F1 5 hours, 35 minutes agoI’ve simply stuck with my long-standing Senna theme with the caption emblazoned on it (a quote from the man himself): “You will never know the feeling of a driver when winning a race. The helmet hides feelings […]

He was still a good deal faster than Hamilton in qualifying.

Max Jacobson commented on the post, Alonso: Red Bull have had it “too easy” 6 hours, 4 minutes ago
@puneethvb it is rather insignificant in the end indeed but some feel the helmet is the driver’s idenity as that is about all you see of them driving the car – so some think they ought not to change them so […]

@tmekt forgive me if I’m mistaken, but didn’t you say on the Bahrain rate the race, after I commented on Kimi’s poor qualifying, that it doesn’t matter on the grand scheme of things?

Max Jacobson commented on the post, Ferrari one-two in Spanish GP Driver of the Weekend 6 hours, 34 minutes ago
He did really well to hold off Vettel in the first stint and to manage the three stop (keeping a charging, 4-stopping Di Resta behind to boot) and if Hamilton’s performance is any sort of benchmark, he did really […]

I don’t particularly like Ricciardo’s and I definitely don’t like Hamilton’s either, but the rest are all pretty nice (I like the novelty of Vettel’s, but Vergne’s wins it).

I think that’s pretty ghastly as well actually: the colours are far too luminescent!

No, it’s just purely because it is “the jewel in the crown” of the F1 calendar and so a good opportunity to showcase new (or commemorative) designs, as it attracts the most media attention!

I think Rosberg’s drive went greatly unrecognised here. Alonso dutifully won – he was sublime except for qualifying – but I really do think Rosberg deserves third more than Räikkönen at least.

@tophercheese21 id have then taken @ivz‘s idea and opened it during the next pit window. Although personally I thought they bashed it back in place – were they really expecting it to work?!

@hwkii about 2012, you’ve hit the nail on the head. The teams had pretty much maximised the potential of the tyres and we actually got rather good racing (with the exception of Korea, India and Japan). Why they […]

@ivz that’s exactly what I thought!
On another note though, the article is actually very interesting to see how the different actuator systems have developed: worth checking out!

@fangio85 I think you’ve taken far too harshly to something which is pretty much the general consensus and is of course topical, as it was mentioned in the ScarbsF1 article (which if you wish to read explains the […]

@tophercheese21 was it worth the risk though? It could’ve been a potentially race-ending failure (as happened to Schumacher in Canada) so I wouldn’t have taken the risk personally, since the tyres still make […]
