@hohum great document, but I wonder why the example they mention to compare a KERSed car with one without it is using Monaco as a reference track, when everybody knows Monaco is an “exception to the rule” respect […]

@hohum +1! The test tyres in Brazil were just that – test tyres. They weren’t a finalised compound and there only was one compound. Data is all well and good from a third party but it’s far better to have proper […]

Lotus mentioned that they went from the data supplied by Pirelli before september 1st last year @hohum, I do not think its just luck, but rather making the right choices (you could say that is luck, but then being […]

@hohum The teams did test the 2013 tyres in Brazil at the end of last year, so they should at least have had an idea of what the tyres would be like.
It’s not Pirelli’s fault the teams didn’t design the cars […]

none of my comments about Bernie are untrue
Except for the fact that they hinge on Bernie trying to suck the sport dry at every opportunity. If that was the case, why is Formula 1 stronger than ever? […]

That doesn’t prove hohum’s point by any means. @hohum likes to portray Bernie Ecclestone as an evil vampire who feeds on money rather than blood, and whose fondest desire is to suck Formula 1 dry. He knows […]

@hohum – Was is greed that led to the high price, or was the high price necessary to cover the costs of establishing the channel? I know you like to think of Bernie as being Scrooge McDuck, swimming around in a […]

@hohum as “magic formula I was talking about his 5-years-streak in Ferrari, not his 2 championships at Benneton (and especially remember the first came when Senna had passed away, so the contenders were not so skilled)

My problem is with the way the FIA are justifying these penalties again. Van Der Garde deserved the penalty but for ignoring multiple blue flags…again. Not for the actual […]

@hohum
I agree.
They really could have done without the DRS down the back straight.Overtaking is easy enough on the back straight w/o DRS.
A single zone on the pit straight would’ve made the race an 8 for me.

@hohum this is true: perhaps all testing could be conducted in the same way as you can now swap straight line tests for wind tunnel time?
Either way though, really the solution would be to police the spending […]

@hohum You are correct in your analysis of the factors that created the dull racing during that era. I was wrong to lay all the blame on the tyres, but I still contend that they were a major factor in such […]

They should just add 2 in-season test for everyone. Like what Pirelli did with Mercedes, they should have 2 days test after Spanish GP and then 2 days test after the first race after summer […]

I do not really like the tone of that article in the Age. Now, I can fully understand why a lot of fans, like @hohum etc, want that. But surely the likes of Webber and Button (amongst the seniors in the field) can […]
