BasCB commented on the post, Lotus to maintain momentum despite loss of Allison 19 hours, 36 minutes ago
A good reason would be to make sure he can end his 6 months gardening leave in time to be able to work on the final details of next years aero package for his new employer (it would give him part of the second […]

off course for Monaco their relatively weak qualifying pace might be a slight worry. On the other hand, they did outqualify Ferrari and at least one Red Bull lately, so its not all bad.

BasCB commented on the post, Lotus to maintain momentum despite loss of Allison 19 hours, 41 minutes ago
Yes, you wouldn’t imagine that one guy leaving would have them shouting to the world that they are in trouble, would you?
Sure enough development for the next 2-3 months was already set in motion by about the […] -

No Notme, the F1 engines will be developed by Honda itself in Japan, unlike the Honda badged IndyCar engines.

BasCB commented on the post, Ferrari join Lotus in criticising tyre rules change 1 day, 2 hours ago
It reads almost like a comment from a completely sane person now, is this the same person?
Sure enough Niki Lauda has joined in the voices being happy about the change (surprise, surprise?).

BasCB commented on the post, McLaren say Honda deal reaffirms top team status 1 day, 2 hours ago
Maybe not if we compare it to Red Bull saying about Webber that its his seat as long as he wants to contionue @john-h!

Talking about Honda coming back, this is a nice parallel between the founder of Honda and that icon of motor racing Enzo Ferrari – both men with a hear for racing, a nice read for a coffee brake/lunch brake

Actually I did understand it that way @seehorse, so in answer to that question – yes it will definitely influence their cooperation.
I have seen several reports in German AMuS, that Mercedes have already taken […]

Oh, and it could help a race like Valencia if they would have these great sailing yachts moor there during the race too! And Abu dhabi, Singapore, even Korea (hm, would anyone go out there, even if they actually […]

I must say that the most I had thought about Gascoyne going ocean sailing was about mimicking what that other, more famous, and successful, F1 designer was planning to do after he first quit McLaren.
But after […]

The price for that deal certainly will not change, as the deal is done and sealed already a while ago.

Its good that Honda is coming back to F1. And its a bit of a boost for McLaren as well, being a customer team must have gone down badly at Woking!
As for Mallya – it really shows how money rules all too often.

BasCB commented on the post, Boullier criticises Pirelli tyre tweaks 1 day, 5 hours ago
Indeed the can, and I have seen some reports that that is what Pirelli is planning to do @wsrgo.
That still changes the way the tyres behave, but not as much as going back to 2012 spec per se.

A couple of points there @vettel1, first of all september 1 or November 10 is not all that different for development of the car, the basics of it have been laid down by about april anyway, so September would be […]

But the Data given from Pirelli to the teams is accurate @vettel1. The inaccurate data is that what the teams and pirelli gather when they can finally put it on the cars on a cold track in Spain!
The only way […]

To me this reads more as Lotus doing their part to influence how much Pirelli changes the tyres, urging them to make as little change as possible.
I do agree that its not great to change the equipment in the […]

BasCB commented on the post, Boullier criticises Pirelli tyre tweaks 1 day, 17 hours ago
Pirelli themselves have admitted that due to the age of their test car the data they are giving the teams isn’t perfect and one set of development tyres isn’t exactly much to go on over the winter, especially […]
