Let’s put little flashing boxes in strategically designated areas out on the track so that drivers can be rewarded with cheeky banana skins or perhaps red turtle shells to fire at opponents?

When the Championship Calculator was up on the site I looked at all the tweets generated by clicking the ‘tweet this’ button underneath the app. I wanted to see what people were saying about it, and found that a lot of the tweets (probably the majority in fact) were written in Japanese, which was a surprise. You definitely have an big international reach Keith!

Thanks Peter, but PM is right, I have not added (yet) any new lines to the car. What I have altered is the colour of the red stripe that runs down from each sidepod along to the tip of the nose to blue, then I altered the sidepod’s themselves to be blue and merge with that stripe on either side (this bit needs work). I plan to add a second lighter shade of blue after looking at some non-f1 Telmex liveries.

I second Jarred’s comment above about your design Kirk, I like it a lot.

I could probably make it to a London meet up depending on work (I’m guessing this will be held on a weekend?) and Birmingham would also be good as a couple of others have suggested.

Thanks for all the comments on my Lotus guys. I have not had much chance to do any more, but I managed to find time to do a quick Sauber Telmex just now, it’s still work in progress:

Any ideas for how I could add to it?

Now that the 2010 season is over and the teams prepare their 2011 car designs, I wondered if the F1Fanatic community could come up with any liveries of their own for next season. So get out your favourite graphics program, and post your images here!

To start things off, Team Lotus/Lotus Racing/1 Malaysia or whoever have announced they will be switching to the other classic Lotus livery. As this happens to be a personal favourite I thought I would do a quick edit of their current car in those old school colours:

I think Keith said something about this a long while back, that he was thinking of changing the main page’s layout.

He did indeed, there were a few template pics uploaded at the time, this page looks like a simple test post.

As a reference point, I am running the game on an Intel quad core (Q6600 @ 2.4Ghz) and a Geforce 8800 GTS 512, with 2Gb DDR2 1066Mhz RAM at 1680×1050 resolution, and the game auto set everything to maximum video settings, but I found the framerate dropped a bit when all cars were rendered at once, so I dropped the MSAA to 2x (was set to 8x initially) and now everything runs nice and smooth.

Having owned both the Driving Force Pro (DFP) and G25, I can say they are both fantastic wheels. But to spend £150 on a G25 just for F1 2010 seems a little excessive. If you just want it for pretty much this game alone, see if you can find a cheap DFP, you should be able to pick one up for <£60, it has no clutch or H pattern shifter, just paddle and a sequential stick, but this is not an issue with an F1 car and the force feedback (while not as good as the G25 is still fantastic. Saying all that however, if you do splash out on a G25/G27 and use all the features, you won’t be disappointed. I really wish I had not sold mine!
