I remember my father watching F1 during the mid-to-late-70’s, and having a Scalextric F1 set (Monza, I think… although it looked nowt like the real thing!) – including a black JPS car (still remember this with fondness…) which was set up in the cellar.

Used to watch sporadically during 80’s and 90’s. Had a brief bit of rekindled interest during the Mansell / Hill eras, but got thoroughly bored during Shumacher’s dominant stint (although having watched some season reviews of this time I was missing some good action, and now quite like Shuey).

Had a colleague at work who was super-mad-fanatically-keen and ended up talking with him during 2006, but didn’t start watching the races religeously again until 2007 season. In 2008 I included qually, and with the move to the BBC, brought red-button practice madness. During 2008 I also forced* my wife & three girls to watch the races, and my youngest (she was 7 at the time) became a stalwart fan (she used to watch the F1.com live timings and tell me gaps whilst I watched the race with her).

Went to my first live F1 event last year (Spa) and am still talking about it now! Me and a buddy from work are hitting Silverstone this year.

    *it didn’t take much effort

Agree she was nervous (who wouldn’t be?) – her eyes kept flicking off camera in a very distracting way.

Talking of her eyes… too much eye makeup?

@Fixy – the link doesn’t work, but I’m hoping the picture is one of my favourite ever F1 moments: The Durex sponsored car… with a puncture!
