I agree that if both cars were on equal terms – no big deal.
I don’t think the view that they were not on equal terms is non-sensical for the following reasons: Webber claimed to have turned the engine down […]

J Dubya commented on the post, Were Red Bull & Mercedes right to use team orders? 1 month, 3 weeks ago
I am no fan of team orders. If they are going to use them, I think they would do well to take a page from Cycling. They have the opportunity to work together as a team, just like ad hoc breakaway groups. For […]

3, only because there were some redeeming factors. I like Vettel, but it’s not racing when your temamte turns down the settings –LAME – WEAK. The podium guys looked like they were in trouble in the principals […]

J Dubya commented on the post, Ferrari poised to attack Vettel but Alonso has an eye on Raikkonen 1 month, 3 weeks ago
Don’t you think that was by design. Massa was on the radio clearly wondering why he wasn’t covering. My thought at that time was that Ferrari were making sure Alonzo pipped Massa as well. I suspect Smedley […]

Sadly, I expect Ferarri will be on the radio during the installation lap telling Masa that Alonzo is faster. If they can dispatch Vettel and work together, they could use the double DRS zones to slingshot each […]

True true, I like that; entertaining for sure. Perhaps endurance racing is the most applicable to real world development. Never-the-less, I believe that F1 would do well to stick to and build from a core […]

J Dubya commented on the post, Two detection points for DRS zones at Sepang 1 month, 4 weeks ago
DRS is an artificial device with no real world application and is for entertainment purposes, i.e the show. While, in principle, I see DRS as wrongheaded, from and entertainment point of view, it is broadly […]

J Dubya commented on the post, Red Bull play a cagey off-season but discount them at your peril 2 months, 1 week ago
I meant to say that perhaps the Albert Park circuit in Melbourne is not considered a proper track, i.e. not representative of the bulk of the F1 calendar. It’s kind of a tweener track.

My gut agrees with your assessment.
@ Keith, It might be interesting to look at the data to see if one can establish a trend of testing behavior by each team, that is, how much relative time does each team […] -
J Dubya commented on the post, Red Bull play a cagey off-season but discount them at your peril 2 months, 1 week ago
Keith,
My cursory perusal of the data, show that Red Bull typically are mid – low pack during preseason testing, only to emerge near the top at the beginning of the season. Based on previous years preseason […] -

2013
1. Perez 2. Rosberg 3. Hamilton
2014
1. Perez 2. Hamilton 3. Rosberg
2015
