Quite amazing really to think that Massa is entering his 8th season with Ferrari – 2nd only to Schumacher as the longest-serving Ferrari F1 driver.

JC commented on the post, Kobayashi says he won’t be in F1 in 2013 5 months, 1 week ago
Truly gutted, but not entirely unexpected. I believe this will be the end of the road of F1 for KK. I still feel Sauber have screwed him over with rather amateur contrasting strategies when qualifying higher up […]

JC commented on the post, Button: “I’d give Fernando a run for his money” 5 months, 3 weeks ago
“Which is all tosh because in the end, the only thing that actually counts is the tally.”
I think the tosh lies within that statement itself. By that logic Prost beat Senna in their 2 years at McLaren simply by […]

JC commented on the post, Hamilton says he doesn’t regret Mercedes move 6 months, 1 week ago
Hamilton’s absolutely made the right choice. As a McLaren fan the ineptness of McLaren not looking at the bigger picture is quite staggering for a top team. They may exist to “win” but that’s races at all costs […]

JC commented on the post, Vettel leads 145 laps in a row – and counting 7 months, 1 week ago
While Vettel’s stats are impressive, don’t forget that there are far more races in the calendar than before, coupled with bullet-proof reliability (compared to old days) and a strong car over a year and you’re […]

JC commented on the post, Vote for the best F1 driver of 2011 1 year, 5 months ago
There is no real debate as to the driver of the year and that’s Vettel. A prime example of a driver, team and car in perfect harmony. Being the only driver on the grid to query Pirelli about the tyres shows his […]

JC commented on the post, Hulkenberg in, Sutil out at Force India for 2012 1 year, 5 months ago
My thoughts exactly re the first paragraph.
He was on course to finish 4th in Monaco in 2008 before being taken out by Raikkonen. Also he was on course for a points finish in Nurburgring before getting into a […]

It’s almost becoming like the late A1GP (especially if Caterham was named 1Malaysia instead!)…

JC commented on the post, Perez-Sala takes over as HRT team principal 1 year, 5 months ago
With the extortionate costs of F1 nowadays I really struggle to fathom how HRT can still have the money to keep going, unlike the old days of Coloni, Rial etc.

And Liuzzi? Still deserves F1?

JC commented on the post, Farewell to Renault name after poor season 1 year, 5 months ago
As Heidfeld is a much better racer than qualifier I reckon he would have scored quite a few more points. But that is a moot point as he was sacked due to his lack of leadership qualities, which means LRGP probably […]

I also loved how the Mild Seven livery complemented with the colours of Fernando Alonso’s hometown, Oviedo. Like a match made in heaven.

JC commented on the post, 2011 F1 driver rankings no.4: Nico Rosberg 1 year, 5 months ago
Again, a real surprise to see Rosberg so high up in this list. He is always renowned for his qualifying pace, but so was Jarno Trulli.
Don’t get me wrong I am a fan of Nico (I won’t forget his amazing debut in […]

JC commented on the post, 2011 F1 driver rankings part one: 28-16 1 year, 5 months ago
In my opinion KOB is a good racer who will likely remain in the midfield at best. He does deliver stand out performances from time to time which cannot be said about a few of the other drivers out there. […]

JC commented on the post, 2011 F1 driver rankings part one: 28-16 1 year, 5 months ago
To be honest it was a wet qualifying session in Spa and that gap was not really representative – it was more down to timing and who could cope better. I mean, Michael Schumacher qualified around a second behind […]

JC commented on the post, 2011 F1 driver rankings part one: 28-16 1 year, 5 months ago
I’m very surprised Kobayashi’s so far down the list and not Felipe Massa, for example, or even Buemi or Glock who were frankly even more anonymous. He was brilliant in the first 7 races, scoring points (bar […]

JC commented on the post, Grosjean takes Petrov’s place alongside Raikkonen 1 year, 5 months ago
STR should stick with their current drivers. Vergne’s time in the YDT were irrelevant as far as I’m concerned. Ricciardo last year set a time that was 1.3 seconds than Vettel’s pole time! And look where he’s ended […]

JC commented on the post, Vettel extends his F1 domination in Indian Grand Prix 1 year, 6 months ago
Disappointing race. Though it is still puzzling to see Webber struggle with keeping up the pace with Alonso. Similarly with Lewis in the initial phase of the race, who was 0.8-1.0 secs a lap slower than […]
