Possibly, but if the safety car ran for the last 5-10 laps they would have been able to cruise to the end. A red flag would have allowed them to change tyres freely as we saw with Vettel in Monaco 11′.

Fantastic win for Lewis, the team really needed that! I assume that Alonso and Vettel were gambling on a probable late safety car or even a red flag (which would have allowed them to change tyres).

Part of me wonders if Montezemelo and the like have thrust him into the media spotlight as the scapegoat.

Why is Fry so publicly slamming his own work? Just makes him seem incompetent. The fact his former team are on the up does nothing to help his reputation.
