Jelle van der Meer commented on the post, Third Canada win for Hamilton in 300th race for McLaren-Mercedes 1 year ago
That 1500 laps led stat on Alonso is interesting but most shocking was when I compared that to Vettel’s 1471 laps (Vettel led 400kms more than Alonso). Then considering how much longer Alonso is in the sport I am […]

The next step is a sad development for this website becoming more and more commercial – needless to say that this was for me the last step and will under no circumstances pay

Jelle van der Meer commented on the post, Hulkenberg in, Sutil out at Force India for 2012 1 year, 6 months ago
Sutil is like Heidfeld – solid driver that has the skills and experience but does not bring the excitement or the exceptional to the table.
As neither has a pot of gold both will be watching from the sidelines […]

Only 6 from the 24 seats left to be confirmed
2 at Force India (likely di Resta and Hulkenberg)
2 at Toro Rosso (maybe Buemi and Alguersuari stay)
1 at Williams (doubt Barrichello will stay – think Sutil)

Shame that Keith actually missed that one – counting all races of a year and ignoring different point systems – Vettel has the 2nd highest % point score possible.
2002 MSC scored 144 out of 170 = 84.7%
2011 […] -
Jelle van der Meer commented on the post, Vettel and Mansell’s 14 pole positions in a season compared 1 year, 7 months ago
In my opinion above article only emphasizes how impressive Vettel’s total of 14 poles is – sometimes not having the fastest car he does manage to get pole position like last race at Yas Marina.
Nigel Mansell […]

I was quite upset seeing Vettel spin off – not such to do with being a Vettel fan but more being a stat & record fan.
His retirement meant a whole load or records disappeared in terms of wins, podiums, laps […]

In fact Alonso is 3rd this year in # of podiums
Vettel = 16
Button = 11
Alonso = 10
Webber = 9
Hamilton = 6Shocking absentee from top 3 teams is of course Massa who while his team mate has 10 podiums did […]

True he finished 17 races although in Spain he was lapped so 16 races on the leading lap while Vettel and Webber each have 17 on the leading lap.

Hi Keith,
Indeed the top 3 has much higher reliability than in 2010.
Based on first 17 races in 2011 there were 10 DNS of top 3 vs. 20 DNS in 2010.
If you look at top 6 finishes of non top 3 team you […]

Just to indicate how impressive MSC 91 race wins are you only need to look at win %.
MSC has won 91 times in 286 races (31.8%)
Vettel has won 21 times in 79 races (26.6%)So Vettel not only needs to […]
