After a fantastic Silverstone trip this year – this Mrs is now hooked!

Pre Silverstone I said – ‘Hey, if we enjoy, we can go next year!’ ‘You got no chance mate!’
…After Friday she was already hooked, regardless of the little wet running!

So I’m looking at Barcelona – it’s so much cheaper than Silverstone!
I’ve got a few great hotel/flight/car hire packages I’ve found on Expedia, and the race tickets seem a bargain.
My only concern is that the 2013 race calendar isn’t finalised… I don’t want to be ending up booking and then the date changing! Especially since the official F1 site (Or Catalunya site) say nout yet…

Getting the real itch to just get on and book though! :D
Might see you there! Adam x

I’m considering re-starting my F1 2011 career, it’s a bit too easy and unrealistic at the moment!
I’ve been a driving/racing gamer for years, but I’m still not *that* good.
    Started on Virgin/Marussia for a 7-season career.
First race I had it on easy, with assists except manual gears. 20% short weekends.
Qualified 5th, ended up 5th, a great race, had a bit of a train behind me, Rosberg was in front about 5+ seconds and pulling away.
For the next, I decided to take off some of the assists to make it a bit more difficult, and more realistic. Qualifiying wasn’t as good, I think it was about 9th, ended up on the podium. So again, next race I took off more assists and added more realism with the tyre/fuel sims. Ended up winning!
It seems the more ‘realistic’ I make it, the easier I was finding it, so when I got to the Monaco GP I deliberately ‘binned it’ with a DNF so I wouldn’t be running away with points.
A Virgin 1st place with 90+ points at the moment? Meeeh.
I’m currently at Valencia, but like I said, I’m considering restarting, maybe going for a shorter career and going for a midfield team with a higher difficultly and see what happens.
Love the game though! Seems a tad easier to get the car around the track than F1 2010 though, or is that just me?

    Hey everyone!
Just wondering really, what is there to do at the circuit? Obviously apart from watching the track action?
I’ve seen that Vodafone have an area where in recent years you can try sitting in cars/putting tyres on and things like that (I hope that’s there again this year, I would LOVE to do that :D), and there’s the live music/entertainment I’ve read from previous years too.
Is there any other things like that to do around there?
Oh, and regarding merchandise… will that be found to be more expensive than you’d get online from the team stores? If it’s cheaper then I’ll just wait till we get there, otherwise I’ll get my fill online ready to go! :)

Oh – and one more – anyone had a Kangaroo/Fanvision? I want to get one for the weekend, just wanted any review off folk here!
    Thanks! x

Hello everyone! New poster here! :)

Well I’m going to my first ever live F1 experience at Silverstone this year! To say I’m excited it something of an understatement!
I was lucky enough to win tickets with Vodafone VIP, which is amazing, as I never win anything! The Mrs was going to buy tickets for me for Christmas last year, but money got tight so we ended up going against the idea… so when this came around, we were landed!

    Anyway!
We’ve got 3 day tickets for the Abbey Grandstand, which is amazing!
My father used to go to Brands/Silverstone back in the 80s and 90s, and he got me into F1 at a young age. So to finally go at the grand old number of 25, I’m landed :)
I’m ending up going with the other half rather than my father though, as she’s landed to get a ‘weekend away’ from work, and the baby etc!

I’m currently booking accommodation now, and as we found out so late we’re going, everywhere is booked up/prices through the roof! We’re coming up from just outside of Swansea, will be staying in Coventry and driving down on the Friday to the circuit, and we’ve got P&R tickets for Saturday and Sunday. By staying in Coventry it’s a bit cheaper, and the other half is happy that she can go shopping there on the Monday morning after / have somewhere to go out in the nights!

I feel I’m rattling a bit now, so I’ll just throw in my questions here!
With the Park and Ride – what kind of times do the buses start and stop?
I’m looking to see what sort of times we’d need to head down on the 3 days; to the track for Friday, and P&R for Sat/Sunday?
Ideally I’d like to be there from the start to very finish all day, all 3 days, however since the other half isn’t as crazy on it as me, we’re compromising! So we’ll be getting there to watch all of the F1, but I’ll only be getting to see bits of bobs of everything else to keep her happy!
Anyway. I’ve banged on too much already, thanks for reading!
And I might be seeing a few of you in July! :D
    Cheers! Adam x
