I don’t understand what Rosberg is really saying in his reply. Can someone explain what he means by…
“I don’t want to get you off the foot there, sorry. Oops. Look at him, look at him go…”

I struggled to separate Hamilton, Ricciardo and Alonso (easily the 3 best in F1 at the moment) for best this year, but considering Hamilton did his job under the pressure of a title fight, I have to give it to him.

My first memory of F1 is I think 2004 when I was 13 (a late bloomer). I was channel hopping and as I flicked onto the F1, the first words of commentary from James Allen were “and Ralf is now coming up behind the dirty Arab Montoya”!!!

As you can imagine I was truly shocked to hear such language, so watched on in intrigue! Anyway, I watched the rest of the race, loved it, and have been hooked for 10 years now!

(In case you were wondering, it turns out the actually commentary was “dirty air of Montoya” and I had misheard, but boy am I glad I did!)

Much like Mansell on Piquet, I think Ricciardo on Vettel is massively over rated just because of the dummy.

I’ll go for Hamilton on Massa. As far as I remember he was the only one to pull off a move around the outside of one of the chicanes.

But then Palmer hasn’t been that spectacular lately. Yes he’s quick and consistent, and today’s race was good (aided a lot by others tripping over each other), but he hasn’t won since Monaco. Don’t get me wrong though, I’d love to see him get a shot in F1, I just can’t see it.

I agree with both of you. I meant that in my opinion, the F1 teams will view it that he has been in GP2 too long. Look at Valsechi and Leimer. I think that as far as F1 teams are concerned, anyone who doesn’t win, or come close, to the GP2 championship in their first 2 years isn’t good enough for a shot in F1 on talent alone. Obviously when money comes into it that all changes!

I never have been impressed with Nasr, and today reinforced my view that he is nothing special. If I was an F1 team manager and could choose one guy from GP2 to drive for me next year it would easily be Stoffel Vandoorne. Unfortunately for Palmer, he’s been in GP2 a little too long.

To Lewis and Nico, and Fernando and Kevin… Before we start, would you like to fight it out in some form of tag-team wrestling session? Maybe Lewis and Fernando can renew your working relationship!

For me there’s an element of wheel to wheel racing that Massa just doesn’t seem to understand, and it’s more to do with defending than overtaking. He seems to think he can just turn into the corner, no matter where another car is, taking whatever line he wants, as long as his car is at least a tiny bit ahead. This is just wrong, but Massa always spouts it out when asked about any incident in which he has turned in on another driver.

Hamilton on Vergne easily for me. T4 is not an overtaking spot, and they were on similar age tyres. Ricciardo on Hamilton was good, but he had a MASSIVE tyre advantage, and outside of T2 is actually quite a common spot for overtaking.

I often read threads like this and feel Hamilton still suffers from his poor season in 2011. The last 3 years he has constantly been accused of making too many mistakes, when really he hasn’t made many. This season I can’t think of a single mistake in the races other than the collision with Button (the smallest of misjudgements).

He has made up for all but 1 of his quali mistakes in the following race (Austria, having won Bahrain and Silverstone, and getting ahead of Rosberg in Canada before his breaks failed).

Red bull have almost as much of an advantage over the rest of the field as Merc do over them. So it has to be one of there drivers. If it wasn’t for Merc, RB would be more dominant than ever!

I’ll go for 25. So it will end in Canada, probably hitting a wall in wet conditions.

I would like to see a win more rewarded. Possibly 25-15-10-7-6-5-4-3-2-1. This would reward a win highly, as well as the other podium positions over the rest of the minor points. Under this system we would have HAM on 75 with ROS on 70. That seems about right to me.
