My money is on simply creating run-off. That’s been a dangerous corner prone to red flag blockages.10th February 2015, 1:54 at 1:54 am #29192928th January 2015, 16:45 at 4:45 pm #290986
The iracing Daytona 24 is getting ever closer. Anyone else running with a team? Myself and some friends have our stints planned, car painted, setup dialed in and we’re ready to go.28th January 2015, 8:31 at 8:31 am #290950
Man it’s tough to get it exactly between 3 and 3.2. I went back to my old stomping grounds and found some streets in Cincinnati. Obviously, some would have to be widened and a couple abandoned buildings torn down to help provide better run off/build a pit complex. Pit lane would either be on State Ave. or Queen City Ave. LOTS of elevation change.28th December 2014, 0:01 at 12:01 am #289616
Does next year’s Indy Lights car count since they tested it this year? It’s how a modern Indy Car SHOULD look.24th December 2014, 0:52 at 12:52 am #289526
With an entire year to mull these over, they sure produce some awful ones. Not even just recently. Looking back there’s some strange and awkward ones.
“78/71 A clear decision!”
“9/16 Well done Nigel”
“Flying Finn First at Finish” (although some could debate this is good, depending on your sense of humor)
“Luck does not come into it…”
“Not in a hurry…”
Those aren’t titles that make me think it’s an exciting championship or interesting story. Also noticing they sure love exclamation points.22nd December 2014, 19:02 at 7:02 pm #289445

Passing has been tough but I’m not seeing a lack of it in the Malaysia round. I understand the concept but I agree that it’d be awesome to see them on regular road courses someday. Honestly, after two races I’m a big fan. They’re starting to fix some of the initial concerns (less obnoxious music in the bg during the race, no warm up lap) and hopefully once they can ditch fan boost it’ll seem like a proper race series and less a gimmick. The racing has been intense and close and it’s giving good drivers a second chance to show they shouldn’t have been passed over in F1. Once teams can develop their own car next year, it’ll be even more fascinating.10th November 2014, 8:13 at 8:13 am #285278
Yeah, our director, Kevin Browne, raced in the top split of group C in the road race. He said Amjed would have finished 15th there with the same pace. I’m kinda miffed about the seeding of the heats because that wasn’t fair to Iberia IMO. I mean, it’s cool to see American clubs in the final, but I’d rather it be because we proved it with talent than lucky seeding.
Still psyched for you guys! Good luck in the final! Hopefully they’ll invite us back to broadcast again next year because it was a lot of fun on both races.31st October 2014, 2:00 at 2:00 am #281662
At first I was like… I thought they demolished the circuit in Rio. I looked at the wiki page and apparently they’re building a new one at another location. Huh.
EDIT: Wait, they’re racing at another track in Brazil using the same name. Dammit, pick more creative names, guys!30th October 2014, 16:50 at 4:50 pm #281407
I’m happy to see Jack with a full time ride and an established team. I just wish it was someone other than Foyt. Oh well, hopefully bigger teams will see what he can achieve and someone will snatch him up. Just don’t let AJ teach you how to treat fans while you’re there, Jack. :P24th October 2014, 23:01 at 11:01 pm #280256
Nah, if we’re theming it around F1F, then I think we should stick with the site colors. Plus, there’s already way too many red white and blue schemes in racing :P23rd October 2014, 17:24 at 5:24 pm #280181
I’m down to join if you guys would be interested in having me :)23rd October 2014, 5:40 at 5:40 am #280131
The old one didn’t seem that terribly hard to drive, but then I also felt at home inside the Lotus 49 before they took away it’s bite. Haven’t tried the new V8 yet.
As for the 24 hdf, quali happens right before the race in the same session. And let me tell you, after my first one it is a LOT of fun. It’s better with a friend, that’s for sure. But it’s intense knowing you have to perform and then being there to help your teammate with info and hoping they perform just as well. And strategy comes into play with who goes first, when to pit, how to split up stints. I’m so excited for my first 24 hour race. That’s going to be even more interesting to watch unfold.20th October 2014, 16:36 at 4:36 pm #279779
Texas is heavily favored right now. The group is organized and have a large pool to choose from.
