John H commented on the post, Ecclestone: “It would be much easier if I was guilty” 5 days, 23 hours ago

The comment was a reply to another comment which stated that Mateschitz is only being right “when his team loses”. A lot of recent comments seem to forget Red Bull were complaining long before Barcelona about […]

John H commented on the post, Bungling the tyre row will give F1 a tainted title fight 1 week ago

Which part of the suspension, front or rear? Please let us know and we can email Red Bull and tell them where they have been going wrong, I’m sure they’d be delighted to hear.

They were saying it in Malaysia, you know, that race they got a 1-2 in. As I’ve said elsewhere, the fact they are saying these things even though they are leading both championships actually adds credence to their comments.

Indeed, but that is why they can choose which compounds are taken to each race based on previous years’ data. The real problem is that we don’t have a ‘hard’ tyre to select anymore, because the hardest compound […]

Nice article Keith – very timely! I like the quotes from Permane, which put some perspective into this perceived ‘disaster’. However, I do think there’s a general problem with this debate being reduced to an […]

I’m not sure you’re meant to take it literally.

I agree with this. Sponsors aren’t going to be too happy if they ‘give up’ on 2013 this early in the season.

It’s also easy to cite the 2009 Brawn story because of its success, but BMW’s disaster of the same […]

Good point, the two are not mutually exclusive. I expect this mess to rumble on throughout the season with whomever wins the title somewhat tainted (if it isn’t Alonso or Kimi). It’s a shame. Pirelli should have […]

John H commented on the post, Ferrari join Lotus in criticising tyre revisions 1 week, 1 day ago

I thought it was well known that Schumacher did 70 quali laps to make that 4-stop work? Do you want the lap times for each lap or something, because you’re obviously not going to take my word for it. I can try and […]

MAN UP and nurse your hard compound to the end of the race?

I have sympathy for Ferrari and Lotus, but the examples the HW gives don’t add to their argument at all. And what’s all this being ashamed about […]

Sorry, I was under the misconception that “flat-out” meant 100%, seen as you also said he “never backed off”. The 2004 French Schumacher drive was close to 100%.

Having watched F1 pretty much religiously since […]

Hard tyres of 2013 are comparable to Mediums of 2012

I know all that my brain cells are perfectly fine thank you. My point is that in 2013 there are no harder tyres to turn to. In 2012, if the medium tyre was […]

John H commented on the post, Ferrari join Lotus in criticising tyre revisions 1 week, 1 day ago

It’s not just the ‘fans being confused’. Red Bull’s main gripe is that they are driving at 80% (or whatever) of the car (by that I mean engine, gearbox, brakes, you know all that stuff that isn’t the tyres, not […]

Maybe the brain cells that control the horse whisperer’s memory also forget that unlike 2011, this years race was run on the two hardest tyre compounds available to the supplier… hence the need to remake the tyres.

John H commented on the post, McLaren say Honda deal reaffirms top team status 1 week, 2 days ago

Reading that article, Neale’s comment at the end is quite interesting:

“Jenson will drive here for as long as he wants to drive here”

Quite a statement that isn’t it?

John H commented on the post, Boullier criticises Pirelli tyre tweaks 1 week, 2 days ago

I’m not even sure why Red Bull are complaining given that they are still doing well and are championship contenders.

I agree with a lot of the anti-RBR comments on here, but I really don’t like these ones. I […]

Hembery himself said 4 stops was too much. When you have drivers too scared to defend position because of damaging their tyres then I think its right to make changes. This has less to do with ‘the show’ and more […]
