But that’s just more rules that will get confusing and open to interpretation and grey areas. Sorry, its an interesting idea and great lateral thinking, but F1 needs less rules not more in my opinion!
Changes like wider cars are the ones that need to and happily are being made.
3rd August 2015, 21:32 at 9:32 pm #302845John HParticipantNo points for overtaking wouldn’t work because two drivers could just overtake each other again and again.
7th July 2015, 22:21 at 10:21 pm #301751John HParticipantI remember watching quite a tense battle for the lead in the opening 20 laps. In the context of this season, with a non-merc leading and P2 of course it was right to focus on the leaders.
Whilst the coverage wasn’t that great (Kimi’s spin, etc…), of course they should focus on the leading group of they are close.
Its not about overtakes, its about watching a live feed when one slips up or there is some drama. Its about what could happen, not what does.
18th June 2015, 8:33 at 8:33 am #300198John HParticipantWider tyres, less aero, no DRS.
That’s it.
30th May 2015, 8:58 at 8:58 am #299205John HParticipantI admire your lateral thinking, but wouldn’t two drivers just get together and keep overtaking each other to rack up points?
18th May 2015, 18:51 at 6:51 pm #298522John HParticipantTo be honest its probably someone like De la Rosa in the simulator.
21st March 2015, 20:07 at 8:07 pm #294865John HParticipantThey look good. Clean and tasteful.
20th October 2014, 20:39 at 8:39 pm #279802John HParticipantDepends how you define great, and that’s never going to be quantitative.
13th October 2014, 7:50 at 7:50 am #278657John HParticipantVergne (again). I like Vergne, hope he’s around next year.
28th September 2014, 8:18 at 8:18 am #276202John HParticipantAnother vote for Jev on Kimi. I love element of surprise passes.
4th April 2014, 19:58 at 7:58 pm #255357John HParticipantAre you sure it didn’t read: “double the points, double the chance of a tainted championship?”.
It still beggars belief that people with such low intelligence can make so much money and have so much power in this world.
28th November 2013, 22:59 at 10:59 pm #243968John HParticipantGreat reading all the replies. Lots of shared feelings it seems.
In the end I missed the US but watched just the BBC highlights for Brazil, which was ok because it wad interlagos of course. I have to admit, I’ve drifted back to reading the odd f1fanatic article too… how could I possibly not??!!
Really hoping 2014 will be a good one.
4th March 2013, 15:24 at 3:24 pm #227970John HParticipantThe article in 4 lines (with direct quotes):
“McLaren are to use Honda engines”
“…the engine manufacturer has decided to return”then…
“The company has not yet officially confirmed its plans to return.”
“Honda would become the fourth road-car manufacturer supplying engines in F1″Interesting if true, but in summary, an article designed to grab attention at the start, fading into speculation as you read on. One more click on the bbc sport website… success!
28th November 2012, 22:03 at 10:03 pm #216027John HParticipantOn separate note, I’m much more concerned with a Toro Rosso just pulling to one side than overtaking in a yellow flag zone.
28th November 2012, 21:59 at 9:59 pm #216026John HParticipantNow making the bbc sport front page, permalink here:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/formula1/20531638References a tweet by Alonso, somehow taking the high ground. Perhaps he could hand his Singapore race win back then. Bah.
