Impressive work, must have taken some doing. Just a few other things from 2011;
Spain Webber KERS failure
Canada Webber Intermittent KERS Steering Wheel replaced during race.
Japan Webber Team Orders to back off.
Abu Dhabi Webber lost lap time due to debris from Vettel’s tyre damage stuck in car. Long pit stop 9sec+.5th August 2013, 18:04 at 6:04 pm #239820katederbyParticipantSounded more like Red Bull said… I mean allegedly said, they weren’t talking about Sainz Jr… although why wouldn’t they?
5th August 2013, 15:59 at 3:59 pm #239802katederbyParticipantMark has multiple instances of “Kini” on his shirt – coincidence I hope so (for Ricciardo’s sake)!
Why’s that?
Good fun segment, enjoyed that banter.
And the “new tarmac”? It just sounded like Webber’s retort to Clarkson’s dig at him taking such a wide line.1st July 2013, 7:28 at 7:28 am #238384katederbyParticipantAlways like to take the opponent into consideration so Webber’s pass on Raikkonen is more impressive than going round a less experienced driver.
28th June 2013, 18:42 at 6:42 pm #179906katederbyParticipantWe stayed at the Yas Island Rotana, a walk away from the track but I think all of the hotel’s nearby get booked up very quickly.
28th June 2013, 18:37 at 6:37 pm #238213katederbyParticipantDon’t know the specifics of diet but certainly all of the taller drivers must watch their food intake to minimize the weight advantage that the shorter drivers have.
I recall reading Webber say he hasn’t eaten a packet of crisps in over 10 years and that he has been probably 15kg below his natural body weight since being in F1.
Maybe next year he’ll be able to have the odd pizza and ice cream binge!17th May 2013, 7:04 at 7:04 am #236624katederbyParticipantGood to see Conor back tweeting that he was ok, if confused what happened;
“Pretty devastated. Never once felt uncomfortable in this car. Rear felt like it just collapsed all of a sudden. Can’t believe it…”And that ice cream solves everything.
17th May 2013, 6:53 at 6:53 am #236859katederbyParticipantIf they allow fans onto the track after the race again then that’s your one chance to get on the start/finish line. One suggestion, take a big umbrella; no one wants to say “I do” (hopefully!) soaking wet.
And good luck!15th April 2013, 17:26 at 5:26 pm #231975katederbyParticipantIf you want a direct comment from Webber he has confirmed he’s staying with RBR until the end of the season and that he will go back to Le Mans series with Porsche but not when specifically.
I think that is his next step and it could well be in 2014 for 5 years… but I doubt this is how and when the announcement was meant to happen.
So for now it’s gossip but with good pedigree.3rd April 2013, 17:45 at 5:45 pm #229595katederbyParticipant@Kingshark True. In fact Webber “has been retiring” every year since the end of 2008.
3rd April 2013, 17:26 at 5:26 pm #229593katederbyParticipantWebber to Porsche Le Mans is not new… he even said it himself back in January 2012 although he didn’t specify when.
2nd April 2013, 14:43 at 2:43 pm #230955katederbyParticipantDon’t hold your breath, can’t see it ever happening.
2nd April 2013, 14:39 at 2:39 pm #228401katederbyParticipantI was only stating facts,not why those facts happened.
Interesting that earlier you quoted Christian Horner; “Mark Webber was not on ‘reduced engine power’.”
Now you say Webber was on reduced power and more so than Vettel… this is contrary to all the previous arguments that Webber’s defence was a fair fight. Clearly it wasn’t, that’s all I’m stating here.2nd April 2013, 10:11 at 10:11 am #228398katederbyParticipantVettel was only as close to Webber as he was because RBR gave him the undercut at the final stops… I assumed it was to ensure his second place was safe from Hamilton. Vettel took advantage of that gift and potentially ruined the team’s race.
And RBR have confirmed Webber’s engine was turned down.2nd April 2013, 9:43 at 9:43 am #230952katederbyParticipantMaybe, PM but the one person at RBR who has supported Webber is Mateschitz himself. Loyalty repaid with loyalty.
