Prisoner Monkeys commented on the post, Vettel attacks Pirelli over safety of tyres 1 hour, 43 minutes ago
@force-maikel – No. They’ll certainly continue with it, but they won’t get what they want. Ferrari are probably the only team who wield enough power to force through changes like the ones Red Bull want.

@keithcollantine – In the build-up to the Spanish Grand Prix, James Allen put forward the theory that the problem was a manufacturing fault that had produced a poor-quality batch. It would explain why most – if […]

For the record, this is what I would have submitted (and what I was hoping someone might do):

Because it’s on public display, which means anyone can take a look at it – including other teams. Why give them a free kick by putting all of their latest parts on the show car?

Australian V8 Supercars 1 day, 2 hours agoI think the problem with the race format in Austin was that the organisers wanted to be able to say they had four races on over the weekend instead of two, even if the two races would both have been twice as long […]

Australian V8 Supercars 1 day, 4 hours agoActually, it’s a hangover from the old Canberra circuit. The pits were notorious for being very narrow with a high-speed approach. The old speed limit was 60km/h, but it was revised to 40. The race was removedf […]

Australian V8 Supercars 1 day, 6 hours agoWith regards to the pitstops, they’re a necessary evil. Some of our circuits – namely Barbagallo, Symmons Plains and Homebush Bay – have very tight pit lanes and very cramped pit boxes. It might look like a joke […]

That should read “shake-up”, not “stand-up”.

Prisoner Monkeys commented on the post, Lowe to start work at Mercedes in two weeks’ time 1 day, 21 hours ago
Maybe, but with the team struggling this year, perhaps they saw releasing Lowe as the catalyst their technical stand-up needed.

F1 2 days, 23 hours agoYour task is to make the new AVUS.
First, you will need to find a motorway or a highway. Your circuit must go down one carriageway, and come back up the other. You may build whatever roads you need to connect […]

How he expected to maintain any sort of relationship with McLaren is beyond me!
Perhaps by offering McLaren the best engines on the grid from 2014.

Prisoner Monkeys commented on the post, Lowe to start work at Mercedes in two weeks’ time 2 days, 23 hours ago
Sorry, but McLaren would be using the same engines as Mercedes next year even if they didn’t let go of Lowe early. The rules dictate that customer teams have to use the same specification of engine as the works […]

Sounds like a perfectly reasonable fellow to me.I wonder how he’d go in Formula 1. I’ve long been convinced that the key to successfully making the jump between Indycar and Formula 1 is to make the transition early.

Prisoner Monkeys commented on the post, Bungling the tyre row will give F1 a tainted title fight 4 days ago
I’m not saying that Pirelli don’t have a case to answer for. I’d like them to make changes to the tyres, if only to shut everyone up about their durability for half an hour. But the problem is that when they start […]
