How much difference will there be among those programs run by top teams?
Every driver development programme will have the expectation to perform. That’s a given. But it’s the approach that differs. Red […]

David-A commented on the post, Podium possible before KERS failure – Williams 6 months, 2 weeks ago
@leotef – Okay, I must’ve taken it that you were having a dig at Vettel (who I think was far better and more consistent in ’08 than Maldo in ’12). I assume you were mostly praising Maldonado as a real future […]

David-A commented on the post, Podium possible before KERS failure – Williams 6 months, 2 weeks ago
@leotef – Oh, yeah, the same Maldonado that is 14th in the championship in the Williams, has 2 top 5 finishes in his career and has thrown away more points than almost any other driver on the grid? Don’t make me laugh.

David-A commented on the post, Hamilton: title defeat is “heartbreaking” 6 months, 3 weeks ago
@leotef – Yes, we don’t know 100% who would have won what. But my point is that looking at Vettel’s performance level as a driver, relative to every car he has had, it would be hard to assume that he wouldn’t […]

David-A commented on the post, Hamilton: title defeat is “heartbreaking” 6 months, 3 weeks ago
@leotef – Stirling Moss had a saying that the best driver gets the best car, and to an extent, it is true. It’s SV’s performance in lower-midfield machinery that got him where he is now. So even if Newey wasn’t at […]

David-A commented on the post, Hamilton: title defeat is “heartbreaking” 6 months, 3 weeks ago
@leotef – And yet it’s not like he hasn’t ever fought for position, or had to come through the field. Only a few races ago he carved through the field. It’s more a case of people not paying attention.
And to be […]

David-A commented on the post, Hamilton: title defeat is “heartbreaking” 6 months, 3 weeks ago
@leotef – Indeed, who knows? But the problem is when people don’t even bother with the “who knows” and act as if they know that the 25 year old SV isn’t as good as other drivers.

David-A commented on the post, Hamilton: title defeat is “heartbreaking” 6 months, 3 weeks ago
@leotef – One doesn’t work without the other. Newey is a great designer, but he needs a great team behind him, and the team needs a great driver, in Vettel.

@leotef well, Webber’s KERS has been always troublesome. It was usually in practice or qualifying though.

David-A commented on the post, Vettel extends his advantage in second practice 6 months, 4 weeks ago
@leotef – I remember the Red Bulls falling behind their rivals in terms of race pace after poles in Bahrain (relative to Lotus) and Canada (relative to Ferrari and Mclaren), this season.

raymondu999 commented on the post, Vettel extends his advantage in second practice 7 months ago
@leotef Race pace is different because different cars respond differently to fuel. Some cars lose more turn-in responsiveness for example, or turn-in stability. Some get more understeer. Also, there’s the question […]

15 poles out of 19 races domination is not ‘That much faster’
No it isn’t, because that doesn’t show the margin of superiority in terms of lap time. Getting 15 poles in a car that’s 0.1% faster is […]

@leotef … regarding your first comment up top about Webber’s chances while he stands one point less than LH who has written his season off. Was going to point that out too. That’s why I think Horner is being a […]

@leotef Yes. As a neutral outsider (my nationality is nowhere near represented by any current F1 driver) I’ve always thought that Spanish press, and Australian press, seem a bit spineless in that they always need […]

@leotef After every race I compile all the laptimes, and do some number crunching based on the data. What was interesting was that based on my calculations, Massa was, on the soft (not the supersoft) 0.1s/lap […]

@leotef I keep shots of the cars from every angle from every race weekend. YallaF1 was the first to report this – they got it wrong. He had the same exhaust as Alonso, which is the same exhaust they had in Canada.

@leotef – It’s fair that you admit to knowing Vettel is fast, alongside the best on the grid. But it’s unnecessary to put a comment like “Better put Adrian’s 3rd championship title”, without clearly […]
