I agree. Such a shame for a guy like Bottas who did so amazingly well to qualify up there on the second row – all that work will be for nothing when the DRS kicks in. Great job though, really good to see Williams up there.

This is what I don’t get. How did this take so long to come to light? A F1 team and both it’s drivers, along with a team of Pirelli boffs run a three day test at a famous race track and no-one heard anything about it? Weird.

The point I’m trying to make is that I find it highly unlikely that Mercedes would have agreed to take part in the test without having some firm belief that it was totally legal.

Why not force them to start from the pit lane? By the time cars clear turn 1 (2 and 3 in some cases), they’ll be quite a distance behind as well as at the back of the grid.

It’s unfair that Hamilton decided to ease off? He could have been much closer to the delta time than what he was. He only has himself to blame for losing those two places.
