Michael Brown commented on the post, Massa says Ferrari still need to improve in qualifying 2 days, 21 hours ago
I’m actually rewatching the 2010 season at this time. I find it better than 2012 and even 2011. There is still talk of preserving the tires, but when there is a driver behind another I can feel the tension […]

Michael Brown commented on the post, Bungling the tyre row will give F1 a tainted title fight 3 days, 9 hours ago
2013 – 2011
Hard – Soft
Medium – Super Soft
Soft – Super Super Soft
Super Soft – Super Super Super SoftPersonally I think Pirelli went too far even in 2012. 2011 was good in my opinion.

Michael Brown commented on the post, Bungling the tyre row will give F1 a tainted title fight 3 days, 9 hours ago
I like the idea of tires that lead to 2-3 stops per race, but Pirelli went too far this year and 2012, in that the drivers have to drive to a delta the whole race to get those 2-3 stops. Even with the one stop […]

Michael Brown commented on the post, Ferrari join Lotus in criticising tyre revisions 4 days, 8 hours ago
Since the tires have been moved 1 step softer each season, compared to 2011 the current tires are:
2013 – 2011
Hard – Soft
Medium – Super Soft
Soft – Super Super Soft
Super Soft – Super Super Super […] -
Michael Brown commented on the post, Button says McLaren form is “embarrassing” 1 week, 1 day ago
I agree. I think the tires should allow the different strategies for drivers who want to conserve their tires and drivers who go flat out.
The 2012 Canadian Grand Prix comes to mind. Hamilton won on a 2 stop […]

Michael Brown commented on the post, Hamilton doesn’t want another race like that 1 week, 2 days ago
@omarr-pepper That already happens.

Michael Brown commented on the post, Rate the race: 2013 Spanish Grand Prix 1 week, 2 days ago
4/10 – The start was the most exciting part, as it usually is, especially when Alonso is there. But after the first few laps tire management stepped in to ruin the racing. Well, that was more down to the track […]

Michael Brown commented on the post, Vettel won’t dictate choice of team mate – Horner 1 week, 3 days ago
Last I read, the ratios have to be declared by the team for use for the whole season, and for 2014 only they can be changed once. This means no more adjustable gear ratios.

Michael Brown commented on the post, Vettel won’t dictate choice of team mate – Horner 1 week, 3 days ago
Regarding the 2014 regs, are fixed gear ratios mandatory?

He’s like Paul Di Resta except he smiles.

Michael Brown commented on the post, Kubica only looking for F1 return 2 weeks, 3 days ago
As a COTD several days ago said, WEC is doing a better job of attracting manufacturers than F1 is.

Michael Brown commented on the post, DRS and tyres: Has F1 got the balance right? 2 weeks, 4 days ago
DRS: Makes overtaking too easy. Its benefit should be reduced. Considering that, bring back free usage for FP and quali.
Tires: The only Pirellis I liked so far were the 2011 ones. It may not have been […]

Michael Brown commented on the post, Mercedes are quickest over one lap but need race pace 2 weeks, 4 days ago
Behind Mercedes the balance of power is much as it was last season: Red Bull fractionally ahead of Lotus and Ferrari, with little to celebrate the latter pair.
Surely you mean separate, @keithcollantine ?
Very […]

Michael Brown commented on the post, Schumacher’s 91 wins record looks safe for now 2 weeks, 5 days ago
With the competition closer in recent seasons, I don’t think anyone will beat Schumacher’s record of wins unless Vettel dominates many seasons. However, I think the record of 7 WDCs is more likely to be broken.

Michael Brown commented on the post, Alonso voted Chinese GP Driver of the Weekend 3 weeks, 1 day ago
I think Ricciardo fully deserved the votes he got. He put in a great performance for the whole weekend, not just for the race.

Michael Brown commented on the post, Fun or artifical? Mixed views in China Rate the Race 3 weeks, 2 days ago
True but most of the time it was just a car following another in fuel saving mode until the pit stops, then maybe there would be some action. Usually only one race would be memorable from a season.

Michael Brown commented on the post, Webber “unlikely” to beat Barrichello’s starts record 3 weeks, 6 days ago
That’s a list of the current F1 race drivers, which is why Kubica isn’t there.

Michael Brown commented on the post, Hamilton: Car went from “terrible” to “amazing” 4 weeks, 1 day ago
@hellotraverse Quite the contrary, I’m a Vettel fan. I was joking about the speed he has at the start. Vettel has proven in 2012 that he’s got incredible talent.
