Going to the Indian Grand Prix at Buddh International Circuit 8 months, 1 week ago Is anyone able to tell me how long it took them to leave the circuit last year? We have a train to catch at 22.30 in central Delhi and want to know if we’ll realistically make it! Any hints/tips about how to do it quickly?
Also, does anyone know HOW to book the bus from the Metro station to the circuit. The circuit website tells you where the buses will be running but not how to book it!
Thanks
Lizzie last year around it took me 2-3 hours to reach central Delhi, but this year I hope they will be able to manage traffic better. So I guess you can catch the train, but leave as soon as the race gets over, don’t wait for podium presentations.
Regarding bus from Metro station, as far as I know, you can only avail bus services if you purchase tickets from in.bookmyshow.com and add it to your order during checkout process. If you did purchase your tickets from in.bookmyshow.com and forgot to add it to your order, then you can go to this link and order it http://in.bookmyshow.com/sport/formula1/add-travel-packages-parking/ (requires your Booking ID) and order ”BIC Bus Services 2012 From Noida City Centre”. They also provide these options:
- Park And Walk
- Park And Ride (Will not recommend this one to you, as for this you’ll have to park your car at Knowledge Park II parking lot and avail a shuttle bus to the circuit and vice-versa while returning. It will just add to your travel time.)
- Two Wheeler Parking
More about these options here: http://in.bookmyshow.com/sport/formula1/transport/ (scroll down a bit to see these options)
However, if you didn’t purchase your tickets from in.bookmyshow.com then circuit website shows an option of availing a taxi service http://buddhinternationalcircuit.in/#The_Circuit-3 Click on ”How to reach” icon (compass) and in first tab ”Directions” (on right side of map) it says ”WTI/WheelzIndia taxi service -JPSI has tied up with WTI/WheelzIndia taxi service to carry Formula One fans from different parts of Delhi to the Buddh International Circuit. The rate chart and other details for the same is given.” http://buddhinternationalcircuit.in/upload/WheelzIndia_taxi_service.pdf You can call and book taxi here. There is also this Spectator guide: http://buddhinternationalcircuit.in/upload/Spectators_Guide.pdf
I don’t see any other option to reach the circuit as you need to have parking permit for your/rented vehicle. The best option for you would be Park And Walk or Taxi service (sounds quite similar to Park and Walk rather than Park and Ride) as it will reduce your dependencies of shuttle services.
