“As exciting as a Grand Prix, but more beautiful to listen to. The queen Elisabeth contest for cello, semi finals from 15th to 20th of May on Klara and Canvas” (=a radio station and a tv channel of the Dutch speaking Belgian public broadcasting)

I’ve always liked Michael Schumachers Benetton-era helmet, I must have drawn it dozens of times as a twelve year old.

I also like Thierry Boutsen’s and David Coulthard’s helmet designs.

For the Belgian GP only, F1 will get from behind the pay-wall in Flanders, the Dutch-speaking part of Belgium. Qualy will be shown on “Een” (first net of the public broadcast) and the race on “Canvas” (second net of the public broadcast).

Oh no @Bradley Downton, how could I have missed the 4 race wins of Jordan, quite embarassing! I didn’t find anything on the other 3 victories Tomsk mentions though…

The second part of my post, concerning race wins, doesn’t mention Sauber as one of the teams without wins, but maybe I should have made that clearer…

D’ambrosio functions as simulator driver for Lotus, if I’m not mistaken. Although I’m Belgian, I must admit Vasecchi has better credentials as a replacement for KR, having more raw pace. On the other hand, if I remember correctly, D’ambrosio’s tire management in the Marussia was quite ok.

In FR 3.5, the only way is up for him now, so he has to become champion. If he would finish in the top 3 in GP2, I think it would be considered as a good result, showing he can adapt to different circumstances and different cars.

Stoffel Vandoorne tops the morning session on day 3:

Maybe a switch to GP2 would be good for him. After becoming runner-up in FR 3.5 this year, the pressure could be quite high to become champion in 2014. Da Costa has shown this season what such high expectations can lead to.

According to his official site, this year he has been driving an Audi R8 LMS in the Blancpain Endurance Series and the ADAC GT Masters.

I really like how this car looks, it’s a bit like a crossover of an LMP2 and a GP3 (but maybe that’s just me). I hate the idea of swapping cars during the race though, as it emphasizes the lack of range of an electric vehicle even more than changing the batteries would. I still look forward to this series, I hope the copious amounts of torque and some talented drivers will deliver some great racing!

Magnussen stayed in the lead at the start, while Vandoorne overtook FdC. Vandoorne came in for fresh rear tires as the first of the leaders. Magnussen made his pit stop 1 lap later, and came back on the track just in front of Vandoorne. Meanwhile, FdC managed a few very quick laps, so when he came out of the pit lane, he was right in front of Magnussen and Vandoorne. FdC extended his lead gradually to 7 seconds, while the difference between Magnussen and Vandoorne stayed constant at about 1 second, and Vandoorne never could get under Magnussen’s rear wing. Quite an entertaining, but rather uneventful race, except for a shunt by Stevens in the first lap (went to far on the kerbs and lost the car) which brought out the safety car for a few laps.
