That’s true.
But I’d say that the Italian Grand Prix is also a Grande Épreuve, wich Le Mans, of course, isn’t. But that’s just me.

I wondered what the relative fuss was about in (German) RTL television, yesterday, regarding Nico winning the race his father won, too.
Damon Hill did the exact same thing, winning the 1993 Italian Grand Prix, […]

I saw that, but I meant pictures. The yellow cars always stood out for me.

Jordan used ‘proper’ Honda engines in 2001 and ’02 after running Mugens for 3 seasons.

Wonderful! But where’s Jordan?

Lustigson commented on the post, Alonso’s 31st victory puts him level with Mansell 2 months ago
I was thinking that maybe some driver with a less than stellar career — e.g. only a handful of seasons, max, and no WDCs — might have achieved that, already.

Wow, is there really no other driver who has done that, pole and win in every season he’s competed in?

Wow, I can’t believe that Alonso is on 31 victories.
I remember that after Prost had retired, and Senna had died, their stats and Mansell’s had something magical:
» Prost 51
» Senna 41
» Mansell […] -
Lustigson commented on the post, Which team has the best driver line-up for 2013? 3 months, 2 weeks ago
I opted for Rosberg-Hamilton, although it’s probably a close call with Alonso-Massa as well as Vettel-Webber.

Well, at least South Korea is officially called ‘Republic of Korea’. New Jersey is just that. ;-)

In fact, that race was to be called the ‘American Grand Prix’, as opposed to Austin’s ‘United States Grand Prix’. I wonder why it ended up as the ‘Jersey Grand Prix’ on the FIA’s calendar in the first place. But, […]

Lustigson commented on the post, Are Red Bull “dominating” Formula One? 5 months, 2 weeks ago
My thoughts exactly. I actually dozed off during some races in the 2002-2004 period, while I’ve been on the edge of my seat — well, sofa, actually — for most Grands Prix of the last few seasons.

Lustigson commented on the post, Are Red Bull “dominating” Formula One? 5 months, 2 weeks ago
I read Max’s reply, below, mentioning 1-2 finishes, and I was at it anyway, so I calculated both one-twos and front row lock-outs.
» Red Bull 2010-2012: 8 one-twos (13.8%) and 19 lock-outs (32.8%)
» Ferrari […] -

Lustigson commented on the post, Are Red Bull “dominating” Formula One? 5 months, 2 weeks ago
I understand, Keith. Thanks.
However, if you leave out the 2001 season, Ferrari’s domination was stronger than when you include it: 38 wins from 51 races or 74,5% and 30 poles or 58,8%. Additionally, if you […]

Lustigson commented on the post, Are Red Bull “dominating” Formula One? 5 months, 2 weeks ago
Keith, in the comparison between Red Bull, Ferrari and McLaren, wouldn’t it be fairer to either exclude Ferrari’s 2001 or 2004 seasons, to keep them at 3 seasons as well, or to include McLaren’s 1991 season to […]

Lustigson commented on the post, The 2013 F1 season: What we know so far 5 months, 2 weeks ago
Check out the 2013 F1 season lemma on the Dutch Wikipedia. Apparently Veronica (part of SBS) made a deal with Sport 1 to broadcast delayed/recaps of most Grands Prix, with Canada, USA and Brazil live at prime time.

Any clues on Dutch TV coverage, Keith? There were reports that Sport 1 — a subscribtion channel a la Sky — acquired the rights, with RTL only broadcasting free-to-air, either on delay or recaps.
