    I actually thought it was one of the best races of the year because it was a real battle

    Its not much of a battle if you can’t overtake. It’s a fight that only one side is going to win even if they make a mistake. Personally, I don’t think the circuit would be ruined. The cars would still have kers to defend and this would bring in a new element of surprise and hope to the circuit and would make the race a bit more exciting to watch.

    lol @ 5. Robert Kubica. Sorry, but that is way unrealistic. I think Kubica will have to work his way back up from another series

    I’m quite sure that if Massa found his confidence, and a sense of purpose once again, he would be a good driver. Not Alonso good, but Alonso wouldn’t dominate him as he is now.

    Yes but can Ferrari afford to wait? I believe Massa has been given enough time and opportunity. Massa has shown flashes of brilliance, but he is not very consistent. Again, I think Ferrari need to move on and perhaps get someone like Rosberg.

    I don’t have much to add on the different types of articles you listed, except to say that they are great and you are doing an amazing job. Frankly, I don’t know where you find the time to do everything!

    However, I can only make some technical suggestions which i think would improve the site:

    1. Improvements for commenting to include a permanent notification for replies. One example could be a feature linked to a reply button. When the reply button is pressed, the user linked to that post will be notified. As it stands now, the “@abcd” feature should be replaced with something more reliable.

    2. Every time i click to read an article, the page automatically takes me to the end of the article to the comment section. This gets very frustrating, especially when loading of the page is slow, as I don’t want to read the comments yet. As it stands now, when I start reading the article the page is usually still loading, when the loading finally ends, it flicks me to the bottom. This should fixed so that page does to flick the user anywhere. I will find my own way to the.comment section.

    3. Again commenting is such a powerful feature of this site and some tweaking you could add many additional and useful features , like flag alerts for bad language (sometimes even I use bad language ;) ) ;can make life easier – also a +1 button. It doesn’t have to be a voting option as such… but you could also make COTD alerts – although this could lead to biased results.

    Hamilton would be an actor or some kind of a celebrity wannabe. He has already stated what he would do if he wasn’t a racing driver:

    “I think I would try and take acting lessons and try to participate in some small cameos in the movies”

    @damionshadows

    me too. But Bahrain GP was the worst.

    This whole idea of “saving” tyres is completely dumb. Regardless of whether it is MSC or others. If you look at it from a neutral stand point, here we have this professional “very expensive” high-technology racing sport where everyone in it has to “save” tyres? It’s a joke. We need qualifying tyres to be introduced, or tyre limits to be completely removed. Let the teams pay for their own tyres and let them use as many as they want! If teams want to pit 10 times per race to change tyres then let them do it (pretty sure it will not do them any good regardless if they can afford it or not). If teams want to “save” tyres then let them save tyres. A tyre is a tyre ffs! It’s like asking a professional athlete or a performer to go on a run or a dance competition using second-hand worn-out shoes. OR a tennis player to use an old lose racquet. We know they are going to try and perform well, but they will be limited by the equipment. What’s the point!?

    “But with Qualifying the reward is/should be giving you a better position for the race, not gaining points.”

    Of course these would be radical changes that may never be implemented but I still think it would work. The weight dependency of the points can still be split. For example, if a car fails or some trivial electronic mishap occurs during a race, all qualifying efforts go to waste. Rather than having qualifying “only” give you a better start position (which is a rather obvious component) why not split the overall total points to say 20% / 80%. Where 20% awarded for qualifying positions, 80% for race (or even 10%/90% would be sufficient). This would force drivers to do their best during both qualifying and race.

    It would certainly prevent drivers from purposely not setting a time or saving tyres or whathaveyou .. I still think qualifying points should be implemented despite of the initial award intended only for the starting position.

    Good idea. The current points system is definitely too linear and blocky. There are big chunks of points differences between various positions that don’t make sense.

    Not only should the point system be modified, but one should also gain points from qualifying.

    In addition, some bonus points could be awarded during the race. For example, on track passes of leading cars that are racing for position should give a driver some bonus points (say 1 or 2 for each pass). This gives all drivers a chance to gain points. Positions gained when drivers crash out (or competitors’ car fails) give no points. Fastest pit stop of the race should give the “team” some bonus constructor points. Fastest lap of the race could give driver bonus points. So there should be several different point structures that when combined gives drivers and teams the total points gained during the overall grand prix.

    Ferrari should have made an offer to Rosberg.. now its too late. Regarding Kubica, i doubt it.

    @prisoner-monkeys

    Ah great,.. so we might end up with 3 former F1 drivers comentating. That would be nice. I am sure other TV stations (such as OneHD or else) might then buy the coverage from Sky.. :| (I hope so)

    Which brings a good point; does anyone know what happens to Brundle and Coulthard?

    Thanks @keithcollantine , I wonder why I was not able to find the article even though I thoroughly searched for the two indicated words…

    There are many interesting views in that article and also here… But I must say I agree with @ratboy . Possible problems with that idea though:

    1. Monaco – very hard if not impossible to overtake. This could be improved if effectiveness of KERS and DRS was improved? (remove one artificial rule and make the other two stronger? ;) )…

    2. The part where “B” teams (as mentioned above by @gabal ) could potentially be used to block certain drivers and not others. The counter argument is that if teams really wanted to do this, they would have done it by now even with the current Blue Flag rules.

    I think the following comment was very interesting by @sojcarter :

    “Why not settle for a compromise that says that the backmarkers need not go off the racing line when a leader comes up behind them, but should they go for a passing move, they should go by unimpeded.”
