I don’t know about legal but there definitely isn’t a way to watch live F1 in HD illegally, sites that claim to do so are lying.

There are some subscription services that cater for people in countries that don’t have tv coverage. Personally, being in the UK, I think the only option I have is to buy a Sky subscription and use their streaming service.

Wikipedia might have the answers for you, scroll down to ‘2017 TV broadcasters’ and ‘Official internet broadcasters’

The first BTCC season (then BSCC – 1958) was decided by a shootout. They drove identical cars for two races, swapping cars for the second race in case one was faster, and combined the winning margins of both races to determine the winner. Brilliant in a nostalgic sense but it wouldn’t and probably shouldn’t happen in this day and age!

Giving it to the driver who set the time first/won the first race isn’t fair in my opinion but it’s the fairest solution I can think of, I’m shocked there isn’t anything in the current regs to oversee this situation.

What would happen if two cars crossed the line with no time between them? I guess they’d give it to the driver who qualified ahead but surely the driver who qualified behind has performed better in the race? Or would they somehow share the position/points?

Apparently this site streams in Japan but I can’t say from personal experience, I imagine you’d have to pay a subscription as well.

It used to be free-to-air on Fuji TV, I think they still hold the rights and show it on one of their subscription/ppv channels so that’s worth looking into

I always find myself returning to Simbin’s GT Legends, great physics and car selection and like most pc sims there’s a ton of great mods out there. The only other sim I currently have installed on my pc is Assetto Corsa, it’s a bit limited but it’s probably the best looking racer out there. I’m still yet to get into PCARS and Dirt Rally doesn’t seem to agree with my pc so I’ll be revisiting that once it’s developed further. I recently re-installed ToCA Race Driver 3, my favourite arcade racer from my youth, plus the only Need For Speed I ever enjoyed, Underground 2.

These days I find myself playing more relaxing driving games. I seriously recommend Spintires, probably my favourite game at the moment, and I’ve also developed a penchant for Euro Truck Simulator 2 (just like everyone else who loves it, I can’t explain why!). I should also mention BeamNG and Next Car Game ‘Wreckfest’, two very fun games currently in early access.

It’s a big shame but I’ve already adjusted. Within about 2 hours after the race has finished you can easily find full race downloads links/torrents so within 3 hours of the race I’m watching it in glorious HD, much better than live streaming. I’d much rather watch live but so long as I avoid finding out what happened before I watch it then there isn’t really any difference.

Also, anyone who is worried about losing the BBC commentary for full races, you need not worry. Setanta use the BBC commentary even when BBC is only showing highlights so you can still savour the BBC experience regardless. Even if the BBC never show full races they will always have Ben and David there commentating on the full race live, and they will probably always welcome the fee from Setanta to use it
