mantresx commented on the post, Chevrolet bid to claim Honda’s Indy 500 crown 1 day, 8 hours ago
What are the odds that either Carpenter, Muñoz or Andretti will win on Sunday?
As always I enjoy this race but only the last half hour, too many cautions and commercials (I get the US feed unfortunately). -
mantresx commented on the post, Pirelli criticise “ludicrous” wait for 2014 tyre decision 1 day, 22 hours ago
I was wondering, of the current drivers, who doesn’t live in either Monaco or Switzerland? I know Alonso lives in Spain but there must be more surely.

Actually Fernando said in an interview that it was the team’s idea to try to use it again (believing the problem was solved), he also said it was hard to resist pressing the drs every time he was chasing someone.

mantresx commented on the post, Alonso: Red Bull have had it “too easy” 2 days, 22 hours ago
Something interesting on the BBC article:
“Alonso has beaten Vettel in all three races this season in which the Spaniard has had no problems. ”
Maybe that’s why Red Bull are freaking out, but Vettel aside, […] -

mantresx commented on the post, Monaco “still a daunting place”, says Webber 3 days, 20 hours ago
@dpod @omarr-pepper jokes aside, Force India is ahead of Mclaren and Sauber not only because they screwed up, but because they have a genuinely faster car this year, also it’s a shame Sutil has had bad luck, I […]

mantresx commented on the post, Ecclestone: “It would be much easier if I was guilty” 5 days, 23 hours ago
I don’t know how Bernie is going to fit a race in New York, he should first sort out all the important races in Europe and focus on regions around the world where F1 would really be a success, if that means only 2 […]

mantresx commented on the post, Massa says Ferrari still need to improve in qualifying 6 days, 22 hours ago
The problem is, 2010 was the first year without refuelling and teams were still adapting the strategies and cars to make the most of it, if you want another season like that you would need another radical change […]

The main problem when you give up completely the development of the car is that you will loose positions (and therefore money) in the constructor’s championship, Mclaren depends a lot in prize money and sponsors […]

The battle between Richiardo and Vergne is certainly heating up, although I hope none of them have bad luck and reliability issues like Buemi two years ago.

@omarr-pepper haha he’s in denial already, but we all knew this was going to happen sooner or later.

@COTD, to be honest I don’t care to see just “driver vs driver”, for me the battle between the teams and the ability to catch up like Ferrari did last year is just as exciting.
There’s a lot of spec racing […]

@javlinsharp Drivers will get the points in addition to the other penalties (like drive troughs and place demotions), but you make a valid point in that a driver with a lot of points will be driving very carefully […]

Actually I think Valtteri broke the speed limit by more than 20 kph a few races ago so it’s not unheard of.

That’s a very very good question, unfortunately there’s no simple answer because every team is different, also the arrival or departure of a driver has an immediate effect on the team’s performance whereas a […]

@omarr-pepper Really? I think Pirelli has much more benefits from sponsoring F1 than you think, “bad marketing” from all this controversy is easily offset by the “good marketing” of being F1′s tyre supplier. Also, […]

To answer the last question, if I were the technical director of Mclaren, Williams or Sauber I would wait 3 or 4 races after Spain and if the team is still struggling then focus 100% on next year’s car, even use […]
