@mattynotwo They were all saving tires, didn’t you know? Let me tell you what, this one will be a slow race, it’s because of the new tyre compounds. They degrade quicker than cheap implants.

You can’t have DRS at one race and not the next, that would be silly.
Under normal circumstances, yes it would be very silly. Under adverse circumstances such as this though it would be quite an […]

Max Jacobson commented on the post, FIA telemetry glitch causes DRS problems 2 months ago
@mattynotwo – that is because the pack has closed up, not because of DRS. The Canadian GP and the Brazilian GP for example also were wet races where DRS was largely disabled, so you could actually argue the […]

Max Jacobson commented on the post, FIA telemetry glitch causes DRS problems 2 months ago
@mattynotwo – We have never had DRS and no DRS in the same season though, which would make for a much better comparison. I think the fact that there are many people against DRS is more than enough to justify a […]

@mattynotwo, everyone has a right to express their own opinion, mine differs from yours, but that’s OK.

You can’t say on one hand that tyre passing is great, and DRS is bad, that’s hipercritical
Assuming you mean hypocritical, I disagree. To me a system which robs drivers of the ability to defend […]

Prisoner Monkeys commented on the post, Ecclestone: Ferrari “completely wrong” in Vettel dispute 5 months, 3 weeks ago
@mattynotwo – Yes, Senna did sit out fifteen practice sessions this year. But if he is such a poor driver that he needed those fifteen sessions to be able to get the maximum out of the car, he has no business […]

Senna did’nt really get a proper chance at Williams from what I’m I’m aware.
Twenty races isn’t “a proper chance”?
Senna had his chance with Lotus last year. He failed. He was dropped from their […]

I agree as well, Istanbul Park usually produced a good race (except maybe 2007).

F1 really needs to look at bringing in GWC like NASCAR.
You’re right, @mattynotwo . It’d be very good if F1 could find a way to avoid races finishing behind the Safety Car…

I’m a purist and I’ve accepted DRS.

@mattynotwo Sorry I don’t follow your point.
I’m saying the claim that fans wanted overtaking and didn’t care how it was achieved is wrong. I don’t see how that relates to ‘fairness’?

The new tyre philosophy introduced in 2011 when Pirelli replaced Bridgestone has helped increase the amount of racing for […]

There weren’t quite as many battles before DRS, but 2010, the last seaosn before DRS, had more overtakes per GP than […]

@mattynotwo – There are plenty of non Alonso/Vettel fans who don’t like DRS as you can see in the replies. It’s not about having a “cruise to the finish”. It’s about passing being too easy when you already have a […]

Alonso and Vettel attacked DRS, but that has nothing to do with teammates. Your off topic attack on them for being favoured is what I was calling out in the first place.
If drivers do not like […]
