There is a generic prediction league here fairly simple but thought I’d put it up anyway

1st November 2013, 15:44 at 3:44 pm #242212CalumParticipantI reckon a large amount of the fanboost votes will be going to Super Aguri, then we need the likes of Arrows, Jordan and of course Minardi to even out the fan attention, -after then we’ll have driver line ups featuring Takagi, Rosset, Katayama Mazzacane, Baumgartner etc. And it’ll be formula nostalgia from the not too distant past
28th October 2013, 16:19 at 4:19 pm #243923CalumParticipant@fom-fan Must have missed that, my bad – caught the team radio – but I can’t recall the BBC showing the footage
28th October 2013, 12:02 at 12:02 pm #243920CalumParticipantYet with the abundance of replays, camera angles and on-board footage – for the second race in a row an incident at the back of the field is completely ignored replaced. More often than not there is a blatant disregard for anyone outside the top 10/15 even when there is nothing going on at the front
7th October 2013, 12:22 at 12:22 pm #242610CalumParticipantI would have thought someone would have taken a look at the rear tyre guards sooner before any of this happened – in one of the first races for the DW12 at Long Beach Rahal and Andretti got together and one car was launched off the other. That incident was at much lower speeds that this one and nothing was done then to affect a change. I suppose the guards are more so designed for ovals where the speed differential in front to rear contact may be smaller and it is the tyre-to-tyre contact just through rubbing that causes airborne incidents, but they seem intrinsically unable to resist a collision between cars of differing speeds like this where the panels must deflect the initial impact to prevent the second car climbing over the first

4th September 2013, 21:44 at 9:44 pm #220492CalumParticipantWell, that created a lot variety, and a lot of brilliant entries, the Macau extensions looked interesting, and a multi-class race at those would be a recipe for mayhem, and kudos to @bmwf1 for using a more unique venue.
In the end the decision came down to @kevincucamest and @formula-1
And the the winner is @formula-1 for the track based on the Buddh International Circuit
3rd September 2013, 10:54 at 10:54 am #220489CalumParticipant@formula-1 yes, that’s fine, no problems
2nd September 2013, 0:18 at 12:18 am #220481CalumParticipantThank @ajokay,
Next challenge: The goal is to create a venue for a potential Asian equivalent of the Le Mans 24hrs, any country on the continent can submit a potential layout which has to be an extension of an existing permanent circuit.
– Length between 7 and 15km
– Must use an existing circuit as a base layout
– Pits must use original garages but can be extended if necessary
– The base circuit extensions can either be permanent or use surrounding roadsDeadline Wednesday Evening GMT.

Based in the surroundings of Castle Dobra in Austria (located on the peninsula across the river after the 12km mark). But also passes right next to Waldreichs Castle at the hairpin before the 23km marker

The track does involve removing some trees from a pedestrianised area at the end of the lap. So might require a redesign if that isn’t feasible.
22nd August 2013, 0:31 at 12:31 am #220447CalumParticipantNow that the forum maintenance has been completed I can announce the winner:
It was difficult, and it came down to being between @ajokay @pezlo2013 and @andae23
And the winner is @pezlo2013
17th August 2013, 19:54 at 7:54 pm #220438CalumParticipantWell that was a surprise,
Right, oval infield circuits – they can be a little uninspiring – so I thought it would be a good idea to take care of one properly then I noticed that Talledega has a neighbouring airport and some other free space. So I figured carte blanche with the area in general – use the oval, the airfield or the area surrounding the speedway, or a combination of the above.
– The boundaries are speedway blvd to the north and the river to the south
– Eastaboga Rd to the east and Jackson trace road to the west
– Length between 4 and 6km
