• I think that move from Verstappen on Bottas was fantastic. Brilliantly intelligent and opportunistic.

The one on Sainz was just as good, although it was mentioned that it was orchestrated by the team, so not too sure about that.

  • @fixy Are you aware you put the same circuit twice on your calendar? Just checking.

  • 1.FIA Gala in Pyongyang (or in Death valley’s open space, or the Moon, or the DMZ)

  • Fifteen races, not the ten of the first days, not the twenty of present. Inspired by 1986:

    1. Brazil, Interlagos
    2. Spain, Catalunya
    3. San Marino, Imola
    4. Monaco, Monte Carlo
    5. Belgium, Spa-Francorchamps
    6. Canada, Gilles Villeneuve
    7. United States, Circuit of the Americas
    8. France, Paul Ricard
    9. Great Britain, Silverstone

  • Baltimore? Really? The awful chicane was put there because of the above ground rail system there, which was slightly higher than the rest of the track, and it at one point made some IndyCars go airborne- but the circuit was actually quite good, and far more challenging than most other street circuits- it just wasn’t well managed.

  • Bahrain never produced a good race until last year (thanks to the awkward track layout, it needed DRS to bring it alive; that is how badly designed it is), and Baku looks alright- but I do not like the idea of staging a GP in countries with poor human rights records and severe restrictions on almost all facets of its inhabitants’ lives. These…[Read more]

  • Testing wise, I would do something like this (aside from 30 days maximum between the last and first races of adjacent seasons, teams would only be allowed to test at these scheduled times during the season, except for SA and NZ, partcipation is optional)

    1. Kyalami, South Africa
    2. All new circuit in Tunis/Carthage, Tunisia (Team testing/Young…[Read more]

  • Ah, brilliant, I have always wanted to post this. I did design a calendar with nearly 50 races but realistically, this will have to do. I have also kept Bahrain, I love that race.

    Pre-season tests:
    Mugello (Italy)
    Losail (Qatar)
    Jerez (Spain)

    Races:
    Australia – Albert Park
    Bahrain – Sakhir
    Malaysia – Sepang
    San Marino – Imola (Italy)

  • Thanks for the credit. This is basically a compilation of all the GP’s and/or tracks that should never have been run into a feasible calendar:

    1. Bahrain (THIS GP MUST GO)
    2. Qatar (not run, but it’s been mentioned)
    3. China
    4. Azerbaijan (the track looks alright but Azerbaijan has no business hosting a GP)
    5. Iran (same situation as Qatar)
    6.…[Read more]
