On the one hand, it is fair that the tyres are not changed – everybody had the same opportunity to get their cars working with the material at hand.
On the other hand, I feel that the tyres are really […]

In relative terms, Alonso could push compared to Raikkonen. But compared to qualifying pace, they were both far away from pushing!

I don’t really understand why Hulkenberg didn’t back off after being released – there was the space and time. Only once the Toro Rosso turned into its pit did they touch. Did he expect the Toro Rosso to drive past his box??

Don’t think so – they have to use some tyres that were used in qualifying anyway (mostly for 1 or 2 hot laps only) so not sure why the last set of tyres could not be used either?

But it is because of the nature of the tyres that most teams seem to get it wrong. And yes, there were huge gaps between the leaders – after the second stop, it had all been played out if you take into account the […]

I actually have no problem with 4 stops at such. However, with 4 stops, there should really only be a minimal amount of saving tyres.

One point for each noteworthy non-DRS overtake I remember: Alonso on Raikkonen and Hamilton, and Vettel on Rosberg.Really, I don’t mind “strategic” races. But there was no strategy here – huge gaps […]

Actually, I think blue flags is one where it makes sense. If you give a back-marker a drive-through, this does not hurt much. Points towards a race ban might be a much more effective deterrent.

Mike Dee commented on the post, Ferrari: ‘Six out of ten’ for season so far 2 weeks, 1 day ago
My preference would be to have a material off-track that slows you down significantly if you run wide (maybe 5 seconds or so) but not more than that. It could also be a material that sticks to the tyres for a […]
