Sounds better when done like this:

Finally got round to watching it. Decent but not spectacular – I’ll give it a few more chances, Putrajaya does look interesting.

Just noticed I managed to spell thief incorrectly. Embarrassing.

@Garns The thing is, these days, I’m never sure of the sincerity. Maybe I’m just getting cynical as I age!

I’m not entirely sure if the Santander advert is meant to be a bit “spoofy”. “Pour (poor) student” – seriously?

@MazdaChris – I agree tha, trackside, F1 car noise can be overpowering. I always wear ear defenders. However, on the TV, it’s very different, I would personally classify it as highly enjoyable and at the end of the day, more people watch F1 on TV than go to the races.

And Santa Pod weekends are my idea of hell on earth – mainly because they fill up our A&E department with all manner of madness and keep me busy!

Sky coverage over now, I suggest we keep our eyes peeled on the twitter feeds.

Sky cameraman allegedly helped someone out whose leg was on fire…

Nope, not a word at all.

I think Sky’s F1 coverage can be summed up in one word: MONTAGE. There are far too many of them!

Must say I’m getting increasingly irritated at the ad breaks during the buildup. They come far too frequently for my liking.

And before anyone says “we’ve had that for years”, as Keith says, it’s not a race to the bottom.

Other than the pairing of Croft and Brundle (which I think is excellent), the whole Sky experience leaves me a bit… blanded out?

A lot of people are commenting on the fact the BBC coverage was just much more fun, which I completely agree with. The chap that they’ve paired with Damon is just so insanely boring and non-descript. He has no personality whatsoever. However, I just think of Brundle and Kravitz too highly to watch race coverage from the Beeb.

That said, I think I’ll be watching BBC pre-race coverage when it’s on and the Sky for the race itself. (Big thanks to my Bro for giving me his Sky Go login!)

@raymondu999 It’s a fair question! There are quite a few academic papers out there, free to access and some through my NHS access as well. Professor Sid Watkins did a paper specifically on the topic (free access if you search Google) back in 2006 on physiology in formula 1 drivers and a bit on LeMans. As papers go, it’s s quite readable by the lay person. The problem I have is trying to somehow make these sorts of papers readable to the average fan.

@F1Yankee – I’ve not managed to find much specific information on eyes other than one solitary paper, and I’m not sure about the evidence behind the blink rate, but I’ll delve further.

@verstappen – That should be straightforward enough – I’ll give it a go.

@raymondu999 – I’m a doctor so have a pretty decent understanding of human physiology. Response to sport is exercise induced and isn’t too dissimilar to stress responses.

In any case, it’ll take me a while to write, reading up a lot of papers at the moment on the topic! Thanks for your feedback :)
