Agreed. It seems naive to think that they won’t be a factor. It’s the one metric they can’t control, and no amount of virtual testing can account for them.

Personally I can’t put him up there with the Senna’s or Schumi’s. Not yet at least. Don’t get me wrong, I like the guy, but like many I feel his car (aka Newey) is a too big a factor to single him out.

I’m a Kimi fan for sure, and both his moves on Schumi are notable. But Massa’s overtake on Senna is a lesson in car control in tight quarters. So my vote goes there.

In profession mountain biking they have an unofficial mechanics race after the final championship race. It would be a hoot if they did this in F1 like you say. I wonder how many actually get to drive the cars they design.
