Success ballast goes against everything I stand for, just like reversed grids. Being punished for doing well is just so damn wrong I can not find words for it.11th May 2013, 18:50 at 6:50 pm #236340
Anyone who knows what the **** happened to Ericsson? Why did his lead suddenly dissapear? Was something wrong with his car?30th March 2012, 15:04 at 3:04 pm #198348

The Mercedes-engine might’ve been stronger than the Honda-engine, but the car was built around the Honda-engine. To stuff in the Mercedes-engine, compromises had to be made. I doubt the car would’ve been weaker had it been run by Honda to begin with, and certanly their development pace would’ve been stronger – had they still elected to keep Rubens.17th May 2011, 12:43 at 12:43 pm #145730
100%? Isn’t that a bit tiresome? I set my races for 20%. That’s long enough for me!17th May 2011, 7:10 at 7:10 am #145727
After a poor race in Hungary where I finished 12th, I was 5th in qualifying in Belgium. I made a great start and moved up to 2nd behind Webber. I matched him wery well on the options, but once on primes he pulled away. I tried my best, but he was too quick. I finished 2nd, 15 seconds ahead of Hamilton in 3rd! In Italy I struggeled to set a decent time in qualifying until the last lap I did. I finaly put a lap together and it was good enough for pole, a full second ahead of Vettel! After that I changed difficulty to Professional for the race. I made a decent start and stayed ahead. Then Vettel tried to attack, but spun. I struggeled to keep Button behind but managed to do it for the first stint. Once again I struggeled on options and had to let Button past in Parabolica. Kubica attacked me in the first chikane, but I fought back. I really had to fight for it, but I managed to hold on to 2nd and took my 4th P2 for the season!6th May 2011, 21:07 at 9:07 pm #145720
Pole position in a Virgin in Germany on Professional! I don’t know how, but I beat Felipe with 3 seconds! Well, the reason must be that it was wet, but still! :D In the race I started on options. I took the start and held a one second gap to Felipe. But a slow pitstop cost me that position and I also had traffic when I came out, so I lost contact with him. After Webber’s stop he came out just in front of me, but I went around him in turn 2! After that I pushed to catch Massa, but I couldn’t get the primes to work well, and the best I could do was to ocasionally match his times. Then I spun in the hairpin, but remained just ahead of Webber. I focused on staying ahead and I managed to do that (I drove the race on Intermediate, I only did qualifying on Professional because it was raining). 2nd P2 this season! :D6th May 2011, 9:22 at 9:22 am #168248
I’m pretty sure I read somwhere that a car must have 4 wheels.6th May 2011, 9:20 at 9:20 am #145717
So it’s true the opponents are much stronger in Spain, isn’t it? I wondered why I struggled so badly there, because it’s a circuit I’ve driven on before. Also, you drove a Ferrari and were beaten by both Lotuses??? :o5th May 2011, 12:55 at 12:55 pm #168193
@Ned Flanders: You know Herbert crushed his foot in F3000 (was it)?5th May 2011, 8:57 at 8:57 am #145715
After qualifying rather well in the rain in both Malaysia and China, my race pace was very poor (and going off the track a lot in China sure didn’t help) and my results were so bad I can’t even remember them. In Spain nothing worked, everyone was much faster than me but someway I avoided finishing last. In Monaco I finally had my new steering-wheel working so I qualifyed around 12th in the rain. In the race it went pretty well, I was tenth going out on the final lap. Then, of course, I f****d it up on the kerbs in one of the last corners and spun. I finished 12th I think.
In Turkey I qualifed 15th or something like that. I fought very hard and after the pitstops I was 11th. Then, all of a sudden, pole sitter Sebastian Vettel pitted again and I was just ahead of him. I really had to fight to keep him behind me, but I made it! Finally, 1 point! Then, in Canada I was 3rd in practice. In qualifying I managed to set a fantastic time to go 2nd! It then started to rain and no one coud beat my time. From 2nd on the grid I took the start, but I was too careful in the opening laps. Vettel passed me early on and once he was ahead I couldn’t challenge him. After my stop I was 5th but overtook both Williamses and gained another position when Webber pitted. He came out right behind me and we fought hard. Eventually he made a move in turn 2, but I didn’t see him so I cut him out. He lost a lot of time so I could cruise to 2nd!
In Valencia I qualifyed dead last, but moved up to 13th in the race. I had never driven there before so I think it was a decent result. In UK I was 19th in quali, but just got 11th in the final lap of the race. Then, I was offered a contract as no 1 driver for Virgin, but I don’t think I’ll spend another season with them, if I can get an offer from Williams (or another established team).28th April 2011, 7:05 at 7:05 am #145709
Started my first career yesterday. 7 seasons, starting with Virgin alongside di Grassi apparently (poor Glock). As my steering-wheel (or rather brake-pedal) is broken, I had to drive with the keyboard, so I chose medium difficulty, but whitout “optimum line”. 20% long races.
In Bahrain I qualifyed well enough for 17th despite going off in the second run. I started on the primes and went long for my first stint. I couldn’t overtake anyone, but gained when the others pitted. After my pitstop I found myself 19th, overtook a Lotus and a Sauber to go 17th before others pitted. Soon I was 14th with 2 laps to go, when I found myself behind Vettel. I tried to overtake him, but went off instead! I lost two positions and finished in P16.
In Australia, practice rained away, so in qualifying, I didn’t know where to brake. I couldn’t even set a decent time in my first run, and on my second run I was too careful on the first lap, and then I went off. P24. In the race I made a decent start and was up to 20th. I started on the options but couldn’t feel them, and I went off a lot. On the primes I found more confidence, and I overtook Chandhook for 18th (best of new teams) only to go off and lose 2 positions. I overtook Kovalainen for 19th, but couldn’t nail Chandhook again for 18th. P19.
