Today’s F1Fanatic Round-up announced that there is a possibility of a Greek Grand Prix, to be run near Athens. So, the challenge is to design a circuit suitable for the job.
1. Must be 4-7km long
2. Must be located somewhere within this area, west of Athens (mentioned in the article as being west of Athens):…[Read more]
I was 8 years old when I attended the 2000 British Grand Prix with my Dad and brother. It was such a surreal experience, having watched Formula One from (so I’m told) the age of 1 with my Dad!
It was Easter Day and my brother and I were kitted out with ear defenders, camping chairs and Easter eggs! The traffic was a nightmare but we still got…[Read more]
True.. Sutil and Gutierrez are in the car now because their sponsorships are the most reliable. But now we’ve seen the first cracks in Sutil’s, if this delay in payment is true. VDG is the reserve, as his comes in fits and starts, but usually something pops up (if not the megabucks that would have had him in F1 years ago, and still racing this…[Read more]
The van der Garde rumors have been going on for a while, but he was also rumored to drive for them in Hockenheim and has been linked to Marussia for 2011, and Williams in 2012 and 2013. Frankly, Giedo has Jos Verstappen-like rumors in the Dutch media, rather than Max Verstappen-like rumors.
I doubt Sauber will frop Gutierrez. He has been in front…[Read more]
@junior-pilot I’m pretty sure James Allison, Pat Fry and Nikolas Tombazis are not Italian.
We’re also living in a different world than the late 80s and early 90s. Mattiacci worked in the UK for some time and has dealt with various cultures. Having Italian leadership at Ferrari today is not the same as it was in the 70s or 80s. There is a lot more…[Read more]
Mine was the 2011 Australian Grand Prix. Arrived at midday (5pm start) and there were plenty of support programs, entertainment, nice food, and so forth. Only problem I had was the Webber didn’t win xD
I think Luca di M is a horrible character, but he’s way to powerful at Fiat/Ferrari to be ousted. And it seems current Ferrari thinking is to have all Italians in charge (as opposed to ‘foreigners’ like Brawn, Todt, Byrne, etc) – so as long as the Italians are running the show, don’t expect things to improve!
I’d say he has his good races, but they don’t come around very often. Like others have said there must be a reason it’s so often him in the middle of a crash. Even if it isn’t his fault, he doesn’t seem to have the reactions to avoid a problem – which others have. I’d say he was always a middling driver who was lucky to be managed by Nicholas Todt…[Read more]
I see him scoring a handful of 8th/9th/10th places … pretty much typical of a Toro Rosso driver! He’ll be with TR for two, maybe three years. They’ll drop him, and his F1 career will be over. He’ll then move to Formula E, then be a commentator with Dutch TV. Toro Rosso has proved to be a career graveyard for almost every driver they’ve had -…[Read more]
Thinking about it more it’s unlikely, but it wouldn’t come as a huge surprise to me if he did. Being in a team that’s so soft with management that’s such a pushover, and having such a ruthless teammate is surely not what anyone wants, despite it being the fastest car. I can see a gamble taking place that the Honda will be even better than the…[Read more]
Mine was the British GP this year. I’d been to tests before, but this was truly fantastic. Got severely sunburned, but it was worth to watch Ricciardo get a podium and Button finish well too. Not to mention I waited on the track for him and was literally in arms reach of him on the other side of the fence.
Only downsides were the huge amount of…[Read more]
Mine was the 2005 British Grand Prix, back when I was 10! I remember David Coulthard breaking down in front of us in his Red Bull during practice and then I remember sitting on the start finish straight during qualifying, going mad when Button took provisional pole. For the race we were sat at Copse and I was an Alonso fan and had handmade an…[Read more]
Do people really see Hamilton walking out of Mercedes this fast? It won’t say much for his ability to fight against adversity if he quits this soon. Same with Vettel; would say more about him if he stuck it out with Red Bull during a hard season, and started afresh with them in 2015.
I can see 2015 shaping up something like this:
