The only bad contact I can remember from Button when overtaking a rival in recent years was with Alonso at Canada in 2011 which was pretty much 50/50 and we all know how that race ended.
So it’s ok for […]

Sutil, Kobayashi and Maldonado are dynamic, proven drivers that you would favour over Button and Perez?
Yes actually. I’d favour a pairing of Vettel with one of the aforementioned drivers over the […]

Red Bull orchestrated the situation
Their reaction and their words on the radio make it clear Red Bull didn’t “orchestrate” anything. They told their drivers to hold position and expected them to obey.

Great comment, @panache. The Mercedes team order were especially puzzling as it seemed neither driver was very happy with them. If Brawn hadn’t imposed, Hamilton would have been disappointed to lose the race […]

The teams spend all this resource and effort optimizing their aerodynamic capacity, only for the benefit to be potentially stripped away from them by virtue of tyre design? A factor which is completely […]

@panache – yes, you are right with the black and orange flags and I agree entirely – his team should’ve seen the screens and told him to pit. The only reason I could see for him staying out is if he was trying to […]

@panache I agree. I had written this comment before Whitmarsh’s press conference news.
Looks like they have hit some trouble. I don’t understand why people are blaming Button for that.

@panache
As with everything in F1, it’s a question of compromise. Teams want to minimise the weight of the car, and keep that weight as low as possible. But at the same time, the trend is for ever higher noses to […] -

Hamilton posted the fastest time in the morning… actually faster then Jenson’s FP2 time, I think it’s early to make such conclusions mate.

Its not coincidence at all that they have been making differing choices in their setup for almost as long as they are together in the team @panache, as both like quite different characteristics in the car handling

I can’t help but think it’s not just coincidence that Hamilton and Button have taken such different approaches to setup ever since Hamilton announced his imminent departure from the team.
It’s hardly […]

@panache the way I see it, its been the drivers who started pushing for stricter (bot consistent) punishing of on track behaviour since late last year that made for more drive through penalties.
And the fact […]

Keith Collantine commented on the post, Pit lane exit warning lights for drivers in Korea 1 year, 7 months ago
@panache It’s been common practice for years that drivers can move off their line to defend, move back towards their line afterwards, but be required to leave room for the other car when they do.
So I don’t […]
