bosyber commented on the post, DRS and tyres: Has F1 got the balance right? 2 weeks, 2 days ago
I do agree that it is the current combination that makes for thosse bad cases @patrickl,but I also think this means that given the tyres, we would often be able to do without DRS.

Max Jacobson commented on the post, Raikkonen: Lotus must work harder to catch Red Bull 2 weeks, 2 days ago
@patrickl naturally you always want to improve, but bear in mind that he started second the previous week whereas Vettel didn’t feel the Red Bull was quick enough to bother setting a lap in Q3: things can change […]

Dizzy-A commented on the post, Hamilton: Car went from “terrible” to “amazing” 3 weeks, 6 days ago
@patrickl – Yeah, Webber could compete with Vettel when 21-year old Vettel was new to the team in 2009, and when Vettel had all the mechanical issues in 2010.

Max Jacobson commented on the post, Front wing flex test “trying to stop us” – Vettel 2 months ago
@patrickl – I suppose then you would prefer a spec series where all the cars were the same and engineering prowess matters not? Come on, loophole exploitation has always been a part of the technical side of […]

Max Jacobson commented on the post, Front wing flex test “trying to stop us” – Vettel 2 months ago
@patrickl – No they don’t. They say the bodywork has to be able to take a certain load in a static load test, but that is all – the rule has the intention of making flexible bodywork illegal, but it can’t because […]

Or Ferrari,… But that would be even worse.

M Dickens commented on the post, Webber knows he will get equal treatment – Horner 3 months, 1 week ago
(@stormbreak) (@patrickl) I was going to say Newey and finances, but it’s basically the same argument as this. He’d rather stick with sub-par treatment in the frequently best car on the grid, and good luck to […]

David-A commented on the post, ‘I wouldn’t have kept Massa’, says Horner 5 months ago
Isn’t it odd that ever since that “nr2″ remark, Webber never even came close to the performance he demonstrated before.
What performance? He won a few races in 2009 and 2010, but never beat SV, […]

Max Jacobson commented on the post, FIA confirms Vettel’s pass on Vergne was legal 5 months, 3 weeks ago
Red Bull should be forced to have their “loophole” interpretations checked by the FIA before they are allowed to race
All the cars go through FIA scrutineering during the race weekends – Red Bull […]

It’s not allowed to overtake when there is a yellow flag.
Obviously. Which is why the rules on where the yellow flag areas are defined are important, yet you seem to have overlooked or ignored them […]

Of course it’s not in their interest that their is controversy about F1
On the contrary, of course it is. This is exactly the sort of story Sky want to push as they attempt to attract subscribers from […]

Cosmas commented on the post, Vettel clinches drivers’ championship hat-trick 5 months, 3 weeks ago
@patrickl, probably it was more Hulkenbergs fault but still a racing incident in my view. Hulkenbergs move was very clumsy for his experience but if Hamilton had kept a more open trajectory maybe this had been […]

Nicholas Sunderland commented on the post, Vettel clinches drivers’ championship hat-trick 5 months, 3 weeks ago
@patrickl 9 drivers championships and 9 constructors championships. I’ll ignore the fact that that was probably a mild hate comment towards Vettel.

Prisoner Monkeys commented on the post, Kovalainen doesn’t want to be a pay driver 5 months, 3 weeks ago
@patrickl – Petrov is much closer to Kovalainen that Trulli ever was. He’s out-qualified Heikki four times in the past six or seven races, and in the sixteen races they have both finished, Petrov has beaten him […]

I’ve been quietly thinking that myself, wondering if anyone else did as well.Everyone bemoans the DRS as fake overtaking, the tyres are much much worse. Talk about undermining the whole […]

@patrickl You say he “gets away with these incidents” because you have decided he was to blame.
If the stewards had said he was to blame but not given him a punishment, then I would agree he had ‘got away with […]

@patrickl Oh sorry, I misunderstood what you’d written here. I take it back.
I’m right about the Canada thing though! :-)
And I must say I’m not comfortable with comparing drivers’ expressions of sadness and […]
