IndyCar 7 hours, 3 minutes ago<blockquote.Carlos went to my school. Really nice guy, but was only really interested in racing.
Sounds like a perfectly reasonable fellow to me.I wonder how he’d go in Formula 1. I’ve long been convinced that the key to successfully making the jump between Indycar and Formula 1 is to make the transition early.

Prisoner Monkeys commented on the post, Bungling the tyre row will give F1 a tainted title fight 8 hours, 12 minutes ago
I’m not saying that Pirelli don’t have a case to answer for. I’d like them to make changes to the tyres, if only to shut everyone up about their durability for half an hour. But the problem is that when they start […]

@nick101 – You don’t think that engines that weigh less than a hundred kilograms are of any value to the manufacturers or road cars? You don’t think energy recovery systems have any practical […]

F1 15 hours, 31 minutes agoReading between the lines a bit, it sounds like the problem is that the teams have put so much time and effort (and money) into channelling the exhaust gasses over the diffuser to generate downforce that they’ve […]

Yeah, there’s no sense banning KERS. It’s one of the few things that keeps manfacturers interested in the sport, since they can adapt it for use in road cars.
Next year’s regulations might spell an end to DRS, […]

Prisoner Monkeys commented on the post, Bungling the tyre row will give F1 a tainted title fight 23 hours, 30 minutes ago
I suspect that, once again, the reality of the situation lies somewhere between the two extremes. Teams will naturally push for whatever outcome they think is best for them, and as we have seen in the past, they […]

Common sense prevails!
Who would have thought that it would come from the FIA?

Prisoner Monkeys commented on the post, FIA wades into tyre row with safety ruling 1 day, 9 hours ago
@julian – The problem in 2011 was not that the FIA changed the regulations in the middle of the season. The problem was the way the teams agreed to it, and then tried to worm their way out of it.
The idea of […]

Prisoner Monkeys replied to the forum topic 2014 cars to be 5 seconds slower? in the group
F1 1 day, 18 hours ago@vettel1 – It’s because the ERS devices are actually going to weigh quite a bit. KERS currently weighs about 20kg, and that’s going to be completely revised for 2014 so that it is constantly providing power. On […]

I was so disappointed when Honda struggled in 2007. And I secretly loved the myearthdreams livery; I never really understood the intense dislike of it.

Prisoner Monkeys commented on the post, Boullier criticises Pirelli tyre tweaks 2 days, 9 hours ago
I doubt Pirelli are changing their compounds just to appease Red Bull. Red Bull might believe that they have enough clout to make Pirelli buckle and cave under pressure to change the tyres, but they don’t have […]

Prisoner Monkeys commented on the post, Boullier criticises Pirelli tyre tweaks 2 days, 9 hours ago
He added that Lotus had designed their car to make the most out of this year’s tyres and did not deserve to be penalised
I think that’s a definite overstatement by Boullier on two counts:
First of all, the […]

And its a bit of a boost for McLaren as well, being a customer team must have gone down badly at Woking!
What do you mean “must have”? Of course it went down badly – they lost Lewis Hamilton to a works team. I […]

Prisoner Monkeys commented on the post, McLaren say Honda deal reaffirms top team status 2 days, 14 hours ago
Honda have never insisted on a team taking on a Japanese driver as a condition if an engine deal (the way Toyota placed Kazuki Nakajima at Williams), so I doubt Kobayashi could expect to get a seat with a […]
