• Hi everyone. I know the 2017 season won’t start till 26 March in Australia.

Anyway, I was wondering what the provisional 2018 calendar could look like, and I heard Singapore won’t renew beyond 2017. Also, I heard that 2017 may likely be the last year of the Chinese Grand Prix.

So I’ve created one that has the Chinese Grand Prix and one without…[Read more]

  • Jenson won his championship in a dominant car with 37-year old Barrichello as a team-mate. Nico won his in a dominant car with Lewis Hamilton as a team-mate. So yeah, I do rate Rosberg higher.

To some extent I agree what you wrote above although I think Rosberg was a far better driver than Jenson. Had Red Bull been a tad more decent in 2009 Vettel would’ve won the title and Jenson would have never gotten a shot at the McLaren car either, very likely his career would’ve died from that point onwards.

  • It isn’t indeed an easy job to do the rankings this year since no-one was perfect nor completely hopeless but I’ll try anyway. I’ll leave Vandoorne out since he only drove one race.

    23. Rio Haryanto – Wasn’t as bad as I expected, but still rather uninspiring driver, and I doubt anyone missed him after Ocon arrived.

    22. Daniil Kvyat – A season to…[Read more]

  • Depending on who gets the vacant seat at Mercedes he has a chance at the title but unless it’s either Alonso or Vettel they won’t beat Hamilton. Will be nice to see another new GP winner though.

I’m not sure if its because I’m British but I think Button just edges this. Button was hands down the best driver in mixed conditions/ slicks on a damp track but Rosberg wasn’t a standout driver in any particular category, he was just very very consistent. Both deserving champions and I’m delighted for both of them to bow out when they wanted to.

  • 1. Daniel Ricciardo – He gets my vote because whenever you looked at who was the nearest challenger to the two Mercedes drivers, invariably it was Danny Ric. He put in some blinding performances, Monaco and his dogged defence of the lead in Malaysia being the highlights. That said, he could have had a stronger run in.

    2. Lewis Hamilton – If a dri…[Read more]

  • Whatever. Only two thoughts come to mind.

Good riddance, I wasn’t looking forward to him increasing his tally of penalty points in 2017.
    Lewis and Max as teammates?

  • His statement:

“Since 25 years in racing, it has been my dream, my ‘one thing’ to become Formula One World Champion. Through the hard work, the pain, the sacrifices, this has been my target. And now I’ve made it. I have climbed my mountain, I am on the peak, so this feels right. My strongest emotion right now is deep gratitude to everybo…

  • 1 – Max Verstappen. And yes, I’m taking factors into account. If you consider he absolutely rinsed my 7 ranked driver, and then immediately started regularly besting everyone’s number one pick, at his age and level of experience, how can he not be? Sensation doesn’t begin to cover it. He’ll draw masses to F1 like we haven’t seen since a yellow…[Read more]

  • I think I’ll let others do the ratings, however, I’ll post a few positive and negative comments of some of the key drivers.

+ Solidified himself in the Ferrari team as the #1 driver (I’m not talking about his performance blowing kimi out of the park, but whenever there was a call from Ferrari on track, it always favored Vettel).
    – His…[Read more]

  • I’ll also include my rating on a scale from 1 to 10 to put their relative positions into perspective.

    1. Nico Rosberg – 9 – Deserves the title, regardless of what some say. Delivered, without foul games.
    2. Max Verstappen – 9 – The star of many races, he doesn’t take chances, he makes them.
    3. Fernando Alonso – 8.5 – Top 10 with a McLaren-Honda…[Read more]

  • We have had ONLY 7 champions in the past 16 years. The next one is very likely to be either Hamilton or Rosberg again. if another team manages to take the fight to them we have either Ferrari driver who have already been champion which leaves us with two men in a Red Bull.

Or McLaren springs a surprise and then it’s very likely Alonso and not…[Read more]

  • A press conference next monday has been announced by the Automobile Club de France. The invitation for the press conference comes from Christian Estrosi, the president of the Provence Alpes Côtes d’Azur region.

  • One of the toughest season to rate the drivers, anyway I’ll start from the Bottom.

N/A Stoffel Vandoorne He was very impressive in Bahrain, but thats only one race.

    23. Haryanto – I don’t even think he deserve a seat for F1, he gave no fight to Wehrlein

    22. Kvyat – Had an okay to the first 3 races of the season, until Russia and after that we…[Read more]
