Reminds me of the Champ Car GP of Korea that was attempted three times from 2004-06 and failed each time. Thanks OWRS.
11th March 2016, 18:22 at 6:22 pm #314911R.J. O’ConnellParticipant@ernietheracefan – Sean and Antonio have been best friends since they got started in single-seaters, for the most part, and Sean’s father Ricardo was generous enough to keep not only supporting his son and his son’s teammate, but his son’s best friend too.
Which, if I must say, is a very refreshing change of pace in the cutthroat world of junior formula racing.
8th March 2016, 13:54 at 1:54 pm #314803R.J. O’ConnellParticipantIndyCar’s team preview for Dale Coyne Racing all but confirms Luca Filippi as the team’s second driver:
http://www.indycar.com/News/2016/03/03-05-Coyne-team-previewWhile a rumour has popped up about a potential road/street race ringer for Ed Carpenter to replace Filippi. He is a driver who’s won at every level of single-seater racing he’s competed in including Formula 1, who’s driven for two of Formula 1’s most historic names in a five-year career.
I think you know the guy.
8th March 2016, 13:51 at 1:51 pm #314802R.J. O’ConnellParticipantReally proud to announce that I will be racing with @CarlinRacing in GP2. All this feels like a dream I always had! pic.twitter.com/kMKdGJBopE

Marvin Kirchhöfer will race for Carlin next year. Last year, he led GP3 in race victories, and was an ADAC Formel Masters and German F3 champion in his first two years of single-seater racing.
29th February 2016, 18:14 at 6:14 pm #313511R.J. O’ConnellParticipantWould it be premature to just hand ART Grand Prix the teams’ title? The two top rookies in the two leading F3 categories last year, plus another standout in Euro F3, plus a McLaren YDDP member and the top rookie in Formula V8. That’s almost unfair to everyone else.
29th February 2016, 18:04 at 6:04 pm #313510R.J. O’ConnellParticipantKnowing the nature of Le Mans, they’ll probably find a way in somehow due to attrition and withdrawals.
23rd February 2016, 15:40 at 3:40 pm #312902R.J. O’ConnellParticipantTickets for Barber Motorsport Park = BOUGHT. GO ROSSI.
22nd February 2016, 13:52 at 1:52 pm #312753R.J. O’ConnellParticipantIf you asked me yesterday:
1. Mercedes
2. Ferrari
3. Red Bull
4. McLaren
5. Williams
6. Force India
7. Toro Rosso
8. Haas
9. Renault
10. Sauber
11. ManorI’m gonna wait it out until testing’s over to update as needed.
16th February 2016, 18:09 at 6:09 pm #312360R.J. O’ConnellParticipantMalja did a lot better than I’d expected in FR3.5 given his prior track record. I’ll set my expectations low on him this year, but there’s some potential.
I like this grid. There’s a lot of strong drivers who all have a shot to become champion, which more than outweighs the weaknesses of the tail end of the grid.
12th February 2016, 9:22 at 9:22 am #312284R.J. O’ConnellParticipantNirei Fukuzumi has been confirmed for a move up to ART Grand Prix. Here’s some things to know about Japan’s newest GP3 competitor:
This is his third year of single-seaters. He was really quick in December testing at YMC. He had a dominant round last year in Motegi in Japanese F3, where he finished fourth in the championship behind second-year drivers Kenta Yamashita and Mitsunori Takaboshi, and Nick Cassidy, who had small handfuls of European F3 experience beforehand. As good as Nobuharu Matsushita is, Fukuzumi might be even better.
12th February 2016, 7:23 at 7:23 am #312285R.J. O’ConnellParticipant@lolzerbob That’s actually a fifth year of Daniel de Jong, Mr. #VeteranPresents himself. But he’s basically bankrolling Rowland’s drive, which is a good thing, and I’m glad that he’s recovered from that savage crash at Spa. Kinda like how Ricardo Gelael is bankrolling his son, his son’s teammate, and his son’s best friend who doesn’t even drive for the same team as the previous two.
5th February 2016, 18:24 at 6:24 pm #312147R.J. O’ConnellParticipantThen again, we don’t know what potential MP Motorsport has had while De Jong has been their lead driver. Rowland did fairly well for them last year. Marco Sorensen and Tio Ellinas were good the year before. If they want to turn their form around, getting a driver on Rowland’s caliber is a good place to start.
2nd February 2016, 16:10 at 4:10 pm #312068R.J. O’ConnellParticipantPersonally, I think Chiltonmania is going to eclipse Mansellmania ’93. :P
So I think that’s every full-time seat occupied so far. Is Carpenter getting a road course driver for the 20 car?
26th January 2016, 16:18 at 4:18 pm #311818R.J. O’ConnellParticipantWelcome four drivers to the 2016 Formula V8 3.5/Formula Gibson 3.5/I Can’t Believe It’s Not Renault 3.5 championship!
