The footage from the 1963 race is so cool! The sport was so much purer and intimate in those days. No going back obviously, and safety-wise that’s a good thing. Nice to be able to look back at the early days though.

Even as an American, I’ve never been much of a fan of US style oval racing. That said, I usually try to catch the last 50 or so laps of the Indy 500. The end of this race is often quite gripping.

Meetings amongst the high brass at Pirelli must be interesting these days. They seem to be immersed in a no-win situation, and I wouldn’t be surprised if they decided to bow out.

Looks like Lewis and Nico are having a good time on those personal watercraft. No tire issues!
