Motoracing fans used to spout this a lot, the connotations being clear: “There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely games.” Ernest Hemingway View

On that note, fantastic article by Paul Weaver from the Guardian. http://www.guardian.co.uk/sport/2012/apr/21/formula-one-bahrain-grand-prix

Am currently in India, it’s not getting enourmous coverage here but […]

Scribe commented on the post, Ben Edwards to join BBC commentary team 1 year, 5 months ago

Weal, Sky are welcome to Pinkham. Disapointed that the BBC lost Croft, for I always harked after he, fantastic that we (those that won’t ever pay Murdoch a penny) got Ben Edwards, and kept Coulthard.

    Brundle […]

Many more people have the BBC than have Sky.

The BBC’s feed will probably still be the world feed.

Hamilton seems to have got the biggest margin of victory in Germany, think that might be more to do with him being the only one to really show up to that race. Everyone else made mistakes that cost them.

If Fernando Alonso passed Timo Glock, Heikki Kovalainen and Jarno Trulli in the space of two corners, would you be applauding it?

Yes, obviously. If anyone overtakes three cars in two corners for position I’d […]

    @PM

Hahaha oh, grow up he made a stunning triple pass. It was an awesome move, that’d a few drivers could have done, but don’t. In Spain even in GP2 passings difficult and he maniulated a situation with […]

What? Replacing an unspectacular meh of a driver (Petrov) with a driver thats been consistantly winning races and 2 titles, including the feeder series since his been out of the car.

    Seems like an eminently […]

I’m not a betting man, but I would love to see the odds both ways on this race happening.

Everyone loves a conspiracy, fact of life. Did you know they faked the moon landing for instance? If people beleive that ignoring clear evidence blind can’t be too hard.

Then there’s always those that think the […]

Kind of strange for Mark to be commenting on this now, feels like the team might have ask’d him to.

Almost certainly more out of irritaition more than anything else, unless of course ;)

@MagJeff. As close to number two as can be managed. Otherwise, it’s just another car innit.

Scribe commented on the post, Single DRS zone in Brazil and track changes for 2012 1 year, 5 months ago

F1 isn’t the series with the concerns. Apart from the pit entry F1 cars would probably be safe in the case of all impacts. It’s the fatalities in other series that have raised the concerns. Wouldn’t describe […]

Went for Button. McLaren gets the biggest performance advantage from KERS, it collapsed, played havoc with his set up for the entire race, an yet he still got himself onto the podium.

Oh hell no, not here. Turkey’s a decent track where they cocked up. What we have here is a rubbish track, too much overtaking? Fine, very very happy to over compensate on the worst track on the calender.

Scribe commented on the post, Massa glad to have “full support” of Ferrari 1 year, 6 months ago

In football, the manager having the full “support” of those running the club means he’s going to be sacked in two weeks.

In formula 1, having the full “support” of your team, means arn’t a competitor.
