Since 1980 (before that they used a strange points system for constructors) the 3 worst average finishing positions (counting only classified results, so no DNF’s or anything) are:

which the sport did, but that only ended up with processional racing. The fans left in their droves.
I don’t mind processional racing. If I want to see close racing I could watch one of at least a dozen spec […]

@nirupam: According to the other season review articles the only ones that have done so are Perez and Grosjean. I’m not sure about Webber and Vettel, but I don’t think they have lapped in every position.

The minimum weight will be further increased from 642kg in 2012 to 685kg to account for the rise in weight from the new power units.
Imagine the decrease in weight of those power units the teams could achieve if […]

Well looking into some data it is not hard to see why so little seats are opening up.
I did some numbers on all drivers who competed in Formula 1 from 2000 up until now. Their average career lasts 5 years. I […] -

I know this poll is not who is the best driver of the weekend but who is the best driver of the weekend in the opinion of the F1fanatics.
I just find it funny that when something which happened lots of times […] -
SempreGilles commented on the post, Second Driver of the Weekend win for Perez at Monza 8 months ago
Funny statistic from 2011: Sebastian Vettel had the same result as Hamilton (pole position and win) in 9 races last year. He won the driver of the weekend vote in a whopping 3 out of 9.

Good thing Indycars and Formula 2 have covered cockpits now after two fatal crashes. Oh wait…..

I won’t miss Petrov either, but with Guido van der Garde being one of his rumored replacements I hope he scrapes some money together to keep his seat.

Imagine the uproar if Ferrari’s V6 turbo was quite a bit faster than Renaults inline 4. Since this season is hailed as one of the best ever, I wonder how long it will take Formula 1 to make the switch to spec […]

It isn’t really the flipping itself that is the problem, but the danger of the roll bar digging into the gravel causing the drivers head to hit the ground.
This brings me to the question of why they don’t make […] -

F1 is about speed. A 300 kilometer sprint race. Le Mans is about efficiency. And if that speed comes from green technology (small turbo engines, KERS systems and what not), I’m fine with that.

SempreGilles commented on the post, Rate the race: 2012 Canadian Grand Prix 11 months, 2 weeks ago
This race had a lot of potential, but it didn’t live up to that. We had different strategies at the front, but the moment you saw Hamilton closing in on Vettel and Alonso at a second a lap you knew he was going to […]

I think there is actually some logic behind Bernie’s comments. What he might mean is: We like to keep F1 free to view in most upcoming markets (America, Asia, Russia etc.). Because that is where he can increase […]

I fully agree with the 1TrueFormula article. It’s a real shame that one of the most radical cars I will see is the Brawn BGP01 with its double diffuser (which isn’t even that noticeable). But you couldn’t sell an […]

I think that they did that there primarily because of the oval racing. Just compare a launched car that has space to go (Webber in Valencia 2010, Ralf Schumacher in Australia 2001) vs. a car that is launched into […]

Rules are rules, so it’s correct they didn’t get to start. But it’s a shame though. With no kilometers they won’t get any faster before next weekend.
And to those saying they shouldn’t be in Formula 1: Atleast […]

Very nice livery they got. I only wish they had some more sponsors, it looks so blank now.
And let’s hope it’s fast (enough) out of the box, so they can qualify in Melbourne and maybe beat Marussia on speed this year. -
