    @sgt-pepper

    Interesting data, but why the huge jumps in 1992 and 1996?

    Well both of those races were wet: of course the 1996 GP being that famous race where Schumacher was lapping four seconds quicker than everybody else!

    @sgt-pepper

    I think we should start a petition to bring back Ron Dennis

    Really? And why is that exactly?

    Oh, I know! Is it because when he handed the job of team principal to Whitmarsh it had only been […]

    Max Jacobson commented on the post, Vettel wins Bahrain Driver of the Weekend poll 1 week, 6 days ago

    @sgt-pepper yea I agree with that: forgive me for using an example regarding Vettel (as obviously there’ll be bias there) but I felt the penalty he received in Monza last year wasn’t particularly just: he took the […]

    Max Jacobson commented on the post, Caterham ‘should be beating Marussia’ – Kovalainen 1 week, 6 days ago

    @sgt-pepper agreed; I was very disappointed when I heard Caterham’s driver announcement, not so much for the fact they had rid of Kovalinen, but for who they had replaced him for.

    At least Marussia have […]

    @sgt-pepper

    I guess there’s not a huge amount you can do without getting a penalty nowadays.

    Oh not even that, there just isn’t really any defending you can do with a DRS-equipped car breathing down your neck! […]

    Traverse commented on the post, Button plays down importance of Spain upgrade 1 week, 6 days ago

    +1 @sgt-pepper
    People underestimate how vital a team principal is to the development and direction of a team. McLaren lost their “Mourinho” and (like Chelsea FC) have failed to recapture the stoicism that Ron […]

    @sgt-pepper He was very good absolutely and it did just serve to prove how unnecessary DRS is but I think Di Resta and Vettel for sure were better.

    @sgt-pepper

    Am I the only person who finds Button underrated? No he’s not Kimi/Alonso/Hamilton, but he’s often up there

    That would be my estimation of him too; he’s not a top class driver, he’s probably one of […]

    Keith Collantine commented on the post, Marussia heading for Ferrari engine deal – Symonds 2 weeks, 2 days ago

    @sgt-pepper I chose it as Comment of the Day because it’s a well-informed response to what I thought was a rather transparent piece of PR and an attempt to deflect attention from the obvious problems Silverstone […]

    @sgt-pepper

    Seriously, still? He crashed twice, the fastest car, multiple retirements infront and most importantly two safety cars. Not one. Two. Whether we agree Vettel is good or not (which we never will), it […]

    Max Jacobson commented on the post, Mark Webber’s 200 F1 races in pictures 2 weeks, 4 days ago

    @sgt-pepper agreed on all accounts except for this:

    and has been repeatedly screwed by a team that’s supposed to be on his side

    I define it as being beaten by Vettel and no more. The only major incident is […]

    Dizzy-A commented on the post, Vettel: “You don’t want any gifts” 2 weeks, 6 days ago

    @sgt-pepper If you feel Webber is worn and demoralised, then it’s down to how much better Vettel is. How “demoralised” was Webber in 2009 when Vettel beat him then? Doesn’t it follow that Vettel would only improve […]

    Wrong @hellotraverse

    Mr mediocre showed himself to be anything but graceful and charming.

    extremely genuine and charming when outside the car

    (bold from me)

    @sgt-pepper – Jenson and Mark are good, but it’s folly to say they are overlooked then say Vettel isn’t deserving of his status, when he is so much better and more consistent than Mark, and let’s be honest, he’s […]

    Indeed it does.

    People here have already forgotten the team orders Webber ignored or the things he said afterwards.

    @sgt-pepper He has such a huge advantage he’s driving on different tyres or driving in a different formula to everyone else. Right.

    He had probably the best car on the day (although I think the Ferraris would […]
