This is an excellent question. Does anyone have any insight on this? Or is underfuelling simply a case of engineers trying to keep the car as light as possible but getting their calculations wrong?

It’s not a joke at all. It’s two young, underfunded teams trying to make it into the points. Every team had to start somewhere. I don’t see the joke and I think it’s exciting to have Marussia and Caterham in F1.
