I wouldn’t mind the boost if everyone had it, but the way it is implemented is extremely unfair on the drivers who will rarely get it, if at all. Entertainment should not compromise fair competition, even if the 2.5 seconds of boost turns out to be negligible.

I wrote off McLaren very early into the 2013 season. I also don’t see Ferrari winning anything this year.

    sorry slr

It’s okay, I was a bit disappointed considering it was probably my only chance this season to make the podium (I don’t expect to be in contention for Brazil), but whatever.

@commonmonsoon race review popped up in my emails and seeing how he can’t post it here, I’d thought I’d do it for him:

“Well, I’m going to attempt to break down one of the craziest races I’ve ever been involved in.

I put in a poor qualifying lap but followed it up with a mediocre one that was enough for provisional pole, although I was unhappy with the fact I cut the corner at Ascari. I went for a final run in an attempt to better my time with a ”clean” lap but ran into @slr into the first Lesmo.

Made my customary poor start from pole and lost out to @sato113 into turn 1, but he got a poor exit out of turn 2 and I went around the outside of him through Curva Grande. As I pulled ahead, I started to feel the back end getting loose and braced myself for the inevitable and we lagged into each other. We both went into the gravel and hit the wall at ridiculously high speed which put us at the back.

I then set about tentatively fighting my way from last to 4th before pitting at the end of lap 6 for primes. I rejoined behind @ed24f1 and quickly passed him as he was on pretty worn tyres, but unfortunately he accidentally spun me out at the della Roggia which meant I lost another large portion of time. I fought my way back through the field once more until I encountered @JamieFranklinF1 down the pit straight but he pushed me onto the grass as I pulled alongside across the finish line (I’m assuming there was lag and he didn’t know I was there) and as I panicked and rejoined the track we collided and I ended up arriving at turn 1 in reverse at 300km/h. Yet more time and positions lost!

Passed @Bradley13 again and then dispatched a vomiting Jamie as the rain began to fall and we all pitted together for inters on lap 17. After our stops, I managed to drop the Lotus pair and catch up to slr in 2nd but he pitted for full wet tyres as I was lining up an overtake. I suddenly realised the track was too wet for inters which meant my in lap was pretty scary. I was hoping everyone hadn’t undercut me by getting onto the full wets earlier, but I was struggling to wrestle the car around the track.

I exited the pits just ahead of slr and Bradley who were battling but outbraked myself into turn 1 and cut the corner. As I felt I’d gained an advantage, I let slr through before the della Roggia but Bradley outbraked himself and took us both out. I caught them again and passed Bradley through the Parabolica but knew he’d likely retake the position as he’d be in my slipstream. I used all my KERS, slr’s slipstream and then some of my newly recharged KERS to break Bradley’s tow which meant I reached top speed and drew level with slr into the braking zone for turn 1. In the spray and excitement, I missed my braking point, locked up and cut across his front wing. As I rejoined the track, I couldn’t see where he was and in my hesitation to get going, I allowed Bradley through once more whilst leaving slr behind which I’m sincerely sorry for! I probably should have stopped but I was very frustrated as I felt I’d already lost way too much time through accidents I didn’t feel I played any part in.”

    Congrats @sato113 – a well deserved victory.

I qualified on the back row for this race, however I went the inside into turn one and made up a few positions and then Damon and Ed (I think) collided on the run to Roggia. I was second behind Bradley who I eventually passed on lap 4 or 5. I then held the lead up until it started raining, unfortunately I’m not too good in the rain and Sato got past after we pitted for Inters. Later I pitted for Wets and had Damon and Bradley behind. I was struggling to stay but for a few laps I managed to, however Damon from a long way back then charged up the inside (he said he locked up) as I was turning into turn one and as Damon rocketed through the corner I hit him and spun off. After that I was resigned to 4th place.

It was disappointing to lose the podium especially considering I led most of the race, but oh well, life goes on. 4th is still my result of the season, and it is actually the first time I’ve ever finished 4th.

Oh crap, I didn’t realise we had a race this weekend – that means all the practice I’ll get to do will be in the morning.

I cannot race today as I have to go out in a few minutes. As this is the first race I’ve missed since season one, I’m sure you’ll let this slide. :)

I’ve done a little bit of practice for Monaco, however I can’t do a single lap without hitting the barrier, cutting a corner or taking a bad line through a corner.

@full-throttle-f1 It’s not been too long since we saw a yellow car, here’s the Renault R30 from 2010. Before it then it was during 2005 with Jordan.

Personally however, I’m not too big on yellow as a primary colour for an F1 car.

Not a particularly exciting race from my point of view. This is the first time I’ve had a proper drive around COTA, and I honestly don’t think the track is that good, apart from turn one it’s very unoriginal.

@insilico I didn’t find the hotel basement to be that scary to be honest, although beforehand my friend told me to run for the door after you turn on the generator, I did that (as opposed to taking on the bloater) and it probably made it a lot less scary for me. I may try to play it again in the future, although another problem I had was that game took way to long for me and I wasn’t enjoying enough to justify completing it.

Funnily enough with Fallout, I was thinking about buying it recently until I looked it up and realised that it probably wasn’t for me. I think the scariest games I can handle are the Tomb Raider which aren’t even meant to be scary.

@commonmonsoon Yes I do have footage of the Steve-Bradley crash (a very strange incident). I won’t be able to get my video up until towards the end of next week because I have to write a few essays and I start uni again next week.

I’m currently NBA 2K14 where I’m focusing on the career mode. During the rookie game I intentionally played badly in the hope that the San Antonio Spurs (my favourite NBA team) would pick me as they had the 28th pick in the draft, fortunately it worked perfectly as they picked me. Unfortunately the team isn’t doing as well as in real life with us being 6th in our conference and at one point we went on a seven game losing streak.

Before I got NBA I was playing Gran Turismo 6 which I find enjoyable and I will eventually get back to in due course. I’m so glad the used car dealership is gone.

I also play GTA V and FIFA 14 every now and then. I’ll probably buy a PS4 later this year, I had actually pre-ordered one but when the lack of games (that were only on PS4 and not PS3 too) became apparent I cancelled it.

The Last Of Us (second playthrough of that)

Damn, I couldn’t even finish the first one as the clickers are too scary for me. I’m a bit of wimp as far as horror games are concerned. Also the scarce resources you have is a bit annoying for me as I suck at stealth and I often had to take on the infected and human enemies.

I’ve no real intentions of getting Assassins Creeed 4, unless it comes down in price by a long way, then I *might* consider it.

Same here, although Assassin Creed 4 is already down to half price so it may not be long before I consider it.

Spa historically is one of my better circuits, however I’m not going to get optimistic.
