• @KeithCollantine Also worth mentioning: in Canada we get NBC’s (pitiful) coverage from the United States. That is the “main” NBC channel, not the special NBC Sports Network which is blocked. (so it’s something like 2-3 races a year I think)

NBC is also part of any basic HD cable package as mentioned before, so around $30 CDN per month.

  • I saw the press release the other day, just looks like HP have built them a new CFD machine (the original one was built by Dell in the BMW Sauber days as I recall). There was no mention of any branding on the car so it doesn’t look like a major deal.

  • A quick update on UK Sky subscription prices:

    SD: £562 (£46/month plus £10 installation)
    HD: £763 (£62.75/month plus £10 installation)

Saw Microsoft Dynamics as sponsor on the new Lotus car. Are there other software companies involved as sponsor in F1?

  • 2009 Renault was definitely a backmarker, Force India had a low drag car and BMW Sauber wasn’t much better than Renault. So, we get Alonso, Kubica, Heidfeld as you’d expect.

2012 Sauber and Williams were strong early-mid season, with Force India improving in the latter half. Hence Perez has 3 podiums and Maldonado a win (and arguably should have…[Read more]

  • Hm, about the coverage in the Czech Republic (let me add/update from what @Thaischumi and @pH provided earlier), this also goes for Slowakia as far as I know.

From the 2015 season onwards free to air Nova and its pay TV sister channel will not show F1 anymore, ending FtA F1 coverage on Czech TV (and Slowak TV). The rights have been bought by…[Read more]

  • Thanks for your submissions. They were all equally enjoyable to look at. However, there was one that was more equal than others. The circuit was brilliantly drawn, with the required long straight, as well as a continuum of fast, winding corners. Congratulations, @philereid .
