Attention all Formula Virtual fans, some teams are going to be running some special one-off liveries to commemorate the 100th race in the series, so Belgium will definitely be worth watching! Here’s mine:

27th June 2018, 15:10 at 3:10 pm #371032NickParticipantFantastic race, shame that Sikes retired so close to the end, but García nabbing a handful of points is exactly the kind of result we need.
Also a news has happened:

Not the most exciting of races, from our perspective, but at least it was clean for once. Could perhaps have done without Sikes’ spin, but then he was at the back of the grid anyhow, and García had a very solid first outing, in my view. Didn’t seem to have the pace for points this time around, especially with only the one retirement, hopefully France is a little more fruitful in that regard.

Woo, very pleased indeed with that result, Halvosen getting us on the board! Hopefully more to follow. Sikes, not sure what happened with him and Wagner, hopefully we can find out at some point, but a clean race would be good next time out. Congrats to the victor, kept everything well under control, but definitely have to feel for @redmist, both drivers passengers to incidents that compromised their races. Hopefully they get some fortune going their way soon, I think they should have more points than they do at the moment, personally.
If Malaysia is wet, though, as is being forecast, that could be a very intriguing weekend! Looking forward to it!

Very nice way to kick off the new season! Whole bunch of different strategies converging at the end, didn’t know who was going to win until the very last couple of laps, and all from different teams as well! Shame Ruiz had that spill down in Turn 1, he could well have gotten involved judging by how well he was keeping pace with the others when a lap down. Great showing from Vasquez and Ingram, Inman recovered decently from a poor qualifying, Ocelot with a banger of a result right out of the gate, and congrats to Mathershaw for the victory.
Halvosen put in quite a good performance to finish 11th, Kinnumen having an offroad excursion to get past, but all things considered I think a reasonable result. Sikes, though the Supersofts weren’t best (or what was selected, Nic =P ), again showed good tyre management to eke out an extra lap each stint and save a pit stop over the rest. Hopefully our first points of the season aren’t too far away, roll on Fuji!

13th March 2018, 18:03 at 6:03 pm #362389NickParticipantSome pretty interesting times to round out the tests! Here’s what I reckon the grid could settle into come Melbourne:
Front Runners
Teams that should be challenging for wins and/or podiums in most races. Franklin and DS Mathershaw appear to have maintained their positions in this group, with current champions Downton continuing their run at the head of the field. Although joining these three – shockingly – is Ocelot, who have appeared both quick and consistent throughout pre-season testing. If something goes wrong for any of the big three, the Japanese outfit will be right there to pick up the pieces.Midfield Pack
Teams that will be wanting to score good points more often than not. Bookending this group are Holmqvist at the head and AMR at the tail, who look to have a small gap to the teams either side of them. In between we have Westwood, Ingram, North Star and Lopez all very closely matched, and one or two big results could swing the end-of-season standings in favour of any one of them.Backmarker Battle
Teams which will need good fortune or development to score points. Newcomers Phoenix begin their FV saga here, and are joined by the surprise package of last season in FIRST, and the all-rookie lineup of Meteor. FIRST are the likeliest of the trio to make it into the midfield, with their prize money from last year, but Phoenix’s drivers look very strong, and could spring a surprise or two in a chaotic race.11th March 2018, 13:36 at 1:36 pm #362325NickParticipantI must find a way to stop my drivers crashing on day 3 of Testing. =P
Still not terribly easy to gauge an exact order here, but I think the field is beginning to stratify and settle into frontrunners/midfield/backmarkers a little better.
Big surprise for me is Ocelot, who are looking not just quick, but consistently quick. Absolutely a team to watch come Melbourne.
10th March 2018, 14:13 at 2:13 pm #362101NickParticipantThis season is starting to look much closer than I’d originally anticipated. The gaps between the majority of the teams seem to be relatively small, and if they stay that way, we could have some fantastic races, maybe with a few surprises thrown in along the road!
9th March 2018, 13:59 at 1:59 pm #362014NickParticipantLess than a second down on the DS, that’s slightly better than where I’d expected to be, so I’m relatively happy with that performance. Holmqvist looking smart, Ocelot with a cracker of a start to their test, and Phoenix looking like they won’t necessarily be trundling around at the back on their own just yet. Definitely looking like some intriguing action so far.
4th March 2018, 19:35 at 7:35 pm #361357NickParticipantFIRST is definitely looking quite good this year, I think the design works a bit better with the shape of the car than in previous guises. I did feel the blue was a poor shade back in ’16, but it’s definitely grown on me since then. Nice work with it there, looks good on track as ever!
25th February 2018, 14:35 at 2:35 pm #360149NickParticipant@aiera-music – Looks a bit chaotic from some angles for my liking, but damned if it doesn’t stand out among the rest of the field! Should look quite impressive at speed as well, congrats for finding something that’ll hopefully become quite distinctive further on. =)
