I thought it was pretty good even if I say so myself! It quickly became my PC and phone wallpaper.

It was up there with his move on Schumacher around the outside of 130R in 2005. I thought there was going to be an enormous accident… The other thing that made this particular move so special was that he was on worn tyres compared to Seb who had just fitted a fresh set.

@sato113 The shot was taken on the exit of turn 14, entry to turn 15. It was a great spot to photograph the cars. That is at least for the first 10 minutes of the session until we were asked to sit in our seats by the event staff…
@force-maikel Thanks! I use a Canon 500D and alternated between a Tamron 18-270mm f/3.5-6.3 and a Sigma 150-500mm f/5.6-6.3.
@ericok Great catalogue of the weekend! It looks like you were only a few blocks further down the grandstand from where I was during the race. You’d have had a great view of Jean Eric-Vernge sticking his wheel on the grass and getting sideways through turn 16!28th March 2014, 12:54 at 12:54 pm #254296Tommy CParticipantHere’s some video from the weekend as well: https://www.flickr.com/photos/tommycf1fan2013/sets/72157643054250095/
Despite just using a phone for most of these, you get a reasonable comparison of the V10 vs V8 vs V6 engine sounds.

Yeh, the McLaren attachment was during Friday practice. The noise will take a bit of getting used to. I quite like it and it’s still quite loud when all cars are on track at once. It was a little strange though being able to have a conversation 50 metres from the track while the cars were out. No chance of that with the V8s! I must say, it does sound much worse on TV though. Hopefully a change in microphones or audio calibration will be an improvement.
Enigma, I was kinda annoyed when the marshal walked in front of me and blocked my view! So I figured I’d use it to my advantage! I think that’s my favourite shot of the weekend.

29th November 2013, 2:53 at 2:53 am #246033Tommy CParticipantMost of the positives have already been mentioned. I must say a big negative for me was the seemingly poor safety exhibited this year. The most prominent incidents I remember were Webber’s loose wheel in China which unfortunately turned out to be a prelude to the shocking pit-lane incident in Germany which injured the FOM cameraman; Jules Bianchi’s Marussia rolling backwards unattended in Germany; the barrier obstructing the track in Monaco following Maldonado’s contact; and the farcical scenes of a 4WD cruising down the back straight in Korea before the safety car had been deployed. I feel that most of these incidents were quite preventable and utterly ridiculous in this age of Formula One which has prided itself on safety over the last couple of decades. I couldn’t help but feel these had arisen due a certain sense of complacency that a serious accident has not occured for quite some time. Given the tragedies we’ve seen in other series over the last few years, I think F1 needs to re-evaluate its procedures…

21st March 2013, 11:42 at 11:42 am #216195Tommy CParticipant@Keith Collantine I just had general admission for the 4 days. All my on track photos are from behind the fencing! The one of Button, Webber and Di Resta were from up on the hill at turn 9 & 10 during the race. I was quite surprised by how well some of those came out!
21st March 2013, 11:21 at 11:21 am #216193Tommy CParticipantI’ve not posted photos here before and I’ve just set up a Flickr profile so I could share my weekend with you all. Here’s hoping this works! Yet another amazing Australian Grand Prix!
