Don’t the top 4 also have a fresh set of options? I thought they did their first Q3 stint on their used Q2 options.

Andy G commented on the post, Vettel back in front with Bahrain pole position 1 month ago
Thing is in China they used all 3 option tyres in the race so it didnt matter.
But here it is suggested that only 2 will be used, putting Button at a disadvantage as he must use the most worn softs, and the […]

I think Button might be in trouble with his tyres.
Ted was saying that the strategy is likely to be opt, opt, pri, pri.
With this in mind, redbull and mclaren decided to use the spare set of options for q2 […]

Funny you mention team orders in the 2008 season. Funny how in the penultimate race in China, Kimi Raikkonen just suddenly lost drive on the back straight allowing Massa to pass him for second.
Were team […]

great drive by Button
Really? In what way was his drive great? Even he admitted he had a shocker.

Andy G commented on the post, Hamilton: “Jenson was able to switch the tyres on extremely well” 2 months ago
Odd, considering how Hamilton was able to switch his tyres on much better for his first stint of quali compared to Button.

The main problem with Ferrari isn’t outright pace. You could see from testing they would be quick for the first couple of laps, before dropping off massively. I can see them being OK for quali, but the race might […]

Woot! COTD! :)
Just to clarify, I was responding to people who were suggesting that, once everyone was bunched up behind the safety car, everyone should rearrange into the correct order while behind the SC (all […]

@VoiseyS
@vjanikI’m not talking about the new rule, I’m talking about a rule that some people want to see, which is letting all people on the lead lap overtake everyone not on the lead lap while being bunched […]

For all those saying that the cars on the lead lap should just overtake those who aren’t behind the SC, there is a large problem that would make this unfair. Here’s a hypothetical scenario (and it would happen […]

Andy G commented on the post, The 2012 rules changes at a glance 2 months, 2 weeks ago
Problem is, if you eliminate all lap differences then those cars who have done less laps will have an advantage regarding tyres (their tyres won’t need to do as many laps as those who are doing a full […]

Here’s a scenario where it’s unfair (and it would happen more often than you think)
Perez and Di Resta are in 9th and 10th and are battling it out. Vettel, in the lead, comes round to lap them, gets past Di […]

One thing that I am thankful for in the whole Sky/BBC debacle, is that now I’ll be able to watch drivers like these progress up through the ranks through Sky’s GP2/3 coverage. I think it will make me more invested […]

I think because both sections of the nose we can see are really flat, you can conclude that there will be a step as opposed to a gradually sweep. I’ve made a crude drawing of what I’m seeing: http://i.imgur.com/BwxpO.png

yeah ive lost a lot of respect for him as an f1 journalist this preseason! i think his mandate was to try and get people excited aboit the tests and give them meaning, but hes gone completely the wrong way about it.

But then Andrew Benson from the BBC likes to disregard this completely, saying that the Red Bull’s times yesterday were ‘ominous’ for everyone else.
